Here they are: the nominees:

As per usual, the "animated short subject" category seems mostly to just be art house-type films virtually unseen by the general public (and during the ceremony itself, they'll probably be more likely to do something like have Mike and Sulley from "Monsters, Inc." "give out" the prize instead of nostalgically refer back to something like "Knighty Knight Bugs" or such :-)
But more relevant to here, the three films for "Animated Feature Film" are: Monsters, Shrek, and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Obviously, the main contest will be between the first two (don't think Jimmy stands much of a chance)... my vote's personally for "Shrek"...

Well, at least that "Marco Polo Junior" feature didn't get nominated (it looked like a real stinkburger!)
As for who I think will win the "Best Animated Feature" award, it will be either "Monsters Inc." or "Shrek." All "Jimmy Neutron" will get is a bucket of Carvel Brown Bonnet Dip dumped on his head.

Once again, CGI prevails over 2-D animation, since all three nominees are CGI films. But then again, no regular drawn animated movie did very well this year, or if they did, Shrek and Monsters's utterly drowned that out. Oh well, this'll give D*sney and Dreanworks something to do other than actually work on their movies. Oscars are regulary more bought than earned, so their was should fit right in.
The rest of the Oscars: Mostly what I expected, in fact I wrote down predictions for some major catagorys and was wrong on only 1 or 2 picks in every catagory{Yes, another example that I have no life, that's why I fit in here}"Lord of the Rings" got 13 nods, most for technical stuff{which they should win}and yet again it seems playing a mentally challenged person automatically gets you recognition from Oscar, Sean Penn should be so proud. And for the zillionth year in a row, a Golden Globe winner for best comic actor got snubbed, this time my main guy, Gene Hackman, and an actress who didn't win one for comedy got a nomination, Renne Zellwiger. Lilkely few of you pay a lot of attention to that kind of thing, but I just had to point out the irony.

I can't believe Jimmy Neutron got nominated. For the BEST ANIMATED SHORTS nominees go to this site:

I hope "For the Birds" (short) and "Shrek" win the awards.

"For the Birds" was lame. LAME.
I could see the joke ten miles away, parading up main street with a twenty piece marching band, playing the enternal fanfare of PREDICTABILIY.
Not to mention the ending(and explosion) was incredibly underwhelming.
At most it was a small chuckle for kids, but I've seen funnier Looney Tunes gags.

LOL! I love Jerry's reaction to Jimmy Neutron. :D
I am surprised that something more mature didn't get in there instead. I know that there were a couple of anime nominees that got good reviews.
What the...how did JIMMY NEUTRON get nominated?!?!

The Men in Orange must have done some serious arm-twisting.
They've got a lot of money tied up in ol' Ice Cream Dip Head.
Forget the green slime, they should all be drowned in Carvel Brown Bonnet Cone Dip!

All the other major animated features were largely failures. "Atlantis" and "Osmosis Jones" were at least, and Neutron was the only animated feature other than Shrek and Monsters Inc to make some good money. And I can't vouch for any other animated film out there from this year because I'm unaware of them, or know that they didn't do so well. Besides, no one cares who the third nominee for that catagory is, because the other two are making it their obssesion to duke it out for victory. Shrek and Monsters will lose when Brain conquers the world...which he won't.
Oh, and another note while I'm here. Monsters Inc got more overall nominations than Shrek, 4-2. Shrek's only other nod was for best adapted screenplay, and Monsters had best song, score, and something else I can't remember, nods. Foreshadowing? Well, there's a month left to find out.

I hate the fact that Jimmy Neutron got nominated...I better stop thinking about it, because I get angry whenever I do.
I hope Monsters Inc. wins. I liked Shrek, but I like Monsters Inc. better.
