I just started learning about Avatars, but i gave some questions. Can you make them in Photoshop? What is a php, and how do you save them that way because it's not listed in Photoshop. Can you have more than one Avatar in your profile?. Finally, how do i set the size of it. I tried to post one up that i made, but i got a message saying that it's too big. Please let me know. Thanks.

php is the generic Photoshop extention, and to the best of my knowledge, NOT supported by the major browsers...
instead of "Save"ing, do "Save for Web" or something to that extent, that will allow you to save as a jpg or gif file.
You'll need to resize the image so the neither the hight or width exceeds 75 pixels.
You can only have one avatar at a time, and the system does NOT save your previous avatars (that I know of)

you can make your avatars in Photoshop..but it's a pain for me..lol. I use some other program 90% of the american population has never heard of (and what a great one it is too! :D)
and, yeah, what naraht said....
these questions should also be in the FAQ.

I have some more questions. Should I use PHP Builder to make PHPs? I tried to download them, but the link said it was forbidden. Also, someone said that
there's a PHP extention for Photoshop. Should I download it and put it in the extentions folder? Please let me know.

GAH! I got my extensions wrong...php isn't photoshop, it's a database/web thingie......infact it's what the Toonzone Forums work on...
Avatar wise, you really really REALLY want to stick with JPGs and GIFs...really.

I tried posting an animated avitar that i made myself on my profile, bit I got a message saying the file was too big. The set the file size to 75 pixle on both width, and hight. Dose this mean I should post it as a single picture? Other people have animated avitars on their profile. I just wanted to know.

animated files are usually over the limit...UNLESS they are under 75x75. Otherwise the picture will look sorta ugly....
If the picture is under 10K (which you can find out by right clicking on the picture on your PC, and looking at the file size. If you still need help, just give a ring in this thread....one of us will help ya.. :)

Why do we have to have 10 posts before we can get any avatars?
I sort of understand that they want you to look around and give your opinion, but why so many? I think that they should only say you need at least 5 to get them!
I thank you for the info, so when I am allowed to get them, I can make my own and put them in my file!

Well, I guess they want you to be an official member before you start putting up avatars. :wakko: I don't know.

My animated avitars range from 16 to 40 kilobytes. So that dosen't help. If i reduce the kilobytes, the picture will look smaller. Is their a way to reduce the avitar's kilobytes without reducing the pixels? By the way, I use A Mac.

10 posts isn't that much.....in fact, you're already at 8...heh
anyway, I'm not sure what's going on w/ your avatar mbaker....if you want, you could send it to me and I could try and fix it for ya..
