Lately, I've been experimenting with random hobbies.

I've been drawing a lot more, and doing other random arty things. My favourite of which is slightly silly-- I like to cut letters/words/pictures out of newspapers and magazines and make themed projects. Some of them turn out rather nifty, though. I've also been writing just to write; not because I have a story going that I feel obligated to finish. Playing random video games to let out stress [because there's nothing more relieving than beating a hooker when you're pissed, right?]. And I've also taken to doing pilates and walking more frequently.

So how about you guys? Any things you're into doing right now?

Now that I have the house to myself (computer in particular), I can finish burning all of my tv episodes to disc. I already have 52 discs made. So that's roughly 9 episodes on a disc, 9 X 52 = 468 episodes burned so far.

Making cover labels with episode titles is a horrible experience though, since I have to scan through each disc to see what episodes are on them. Especially series like Tenjho Tenge, which keep their titles in Kanji. D:

Also, I'm thinking about making a realistic mural on my computer room walls to look like the Master Sword grove (or whatever you call it) in Twilight Princess. That game has some nice backgrounds.

I used to tape show but I am starting getting into the habit of doing it again. Because I dont want to go out to Best Buy to buy dvds I'm too lazy.

Now I usually play Xbox Live I have tons of fun with that(also play video games in general). After being gone for ages I finally came back and started to talk here again. I play Runescape I'm a bit too old for it but I still enjoy playing it.

Oh and I started working out again lol. Something I really don't do much because I'm lazy but I dunno I am kind of getting used to it. I read manga watch subbed anime.(Notice I am naming what I do on a daily basis lol). And playing baseball is always fun.

Yup I named alot but thats the main things I generally do. I have more but naming them all will be much.

Finding files and folders I forgot about for years, deleting programs I no longer use, burning off things that just waste space. /nods.

i finally figured out how to hook up my my wii and ds to my router, so i plan on doing a lot of catch up with my wifi games. did a little mario kart last night. oh how i loathe snakers

been working on a little bit of drawing, too. currently, i'm reimagining the mario bros. characters in my style. for instance, today i had nothing to work on at work so i spent a couple of hours designing yoshi based off of his "super smash bros brawl" appearance here (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/yoshi.html)

otherwise, i'm reading the harry potter series over again from the beginning. since i've read the whole thing already, it's kind of cool to go back and pick up on all of jk rowling's clues and foreshadowings

EDIT: i also started going on extremely long walks. usually i go out for about an hour each night just walking about town. once in a while, i bring a friend. i've lost probably 20 pounds since christmas because of it

Hobbies are hobbies it what you make of it lol :pFirst, there are two things you should look into: grammar and punctuation. Seriously, dude, I've seen far too many of your posts that are extremely incoherent. And the 'lol' thing is getting annoying. ><

Secondly, it could be assumed that if you post on Toon Zone, you watch animation. So nyah.

Fine, then I don't have to post here if I don't want to. People make mistakes, you don't have to be so critical. And "lol" is an expression I like to use there is nothing wrong with having some emotion. I didn't know I was going to be bashed for posting. And I didn't know that someone watches my posts either.

If I knew that I guess I should be extremely careful. Because one tiny mistake I can get bashed for.

Hobbies, eh? Let's see...

I like to go running, a lot, whether it be just running straight for 6 miles or playing soccer, rugby, basketball etc.

In general, I love to workout, seriously, I feel great after a good workout so I naturally like to do it. I especially like going to the gym with a friend, and/or listening to music while I workout.

Hmmm...

I love driving, but I dunno if that counts as a hobby, haha.

There are other things, I am sure, but as for strange/silly...

I have a full body mirror in my room, however, I don't use it for a mirror, I likie to write song lyrics on it haha.

Since my summer has been pretty uneventful (though I am leaving for CA tommorow), I have been drawing a lot to occupy my days. I just do some random sketches in my sketchbook, and I finished up one of my sketchbooks last week. It feels so good to fill up a sketchbook, it's like a great achievement for me :p.

Another hobby of mine recently has been playing Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. I got addicted to that game and I've been experimenting with all the different possiblities of marriage and farming techniques and whatnot.

I've been on a real drawing and writing kick lately. I've been out of them for the longest time, so it's nice to get back into what I love.

Well, I'm back at school so I'm spending more time on homework and such. But I've been religiously watching the Braves on TV. And softball is starting up next week, though due to my knee injury my activity is limited. And along those lines, so much of my time over the summer was dedicated to physical therapy.

Now that I'm settled in, I'm hoping to catch up on some of the anime I've been falling behind on as well as get some more writing done. I've got six ongoing fanfictions but I also like to write poetry whenever the fancy strikes.

First and foremost, I'm a big-time film buff. I also like to dapple in a lot of T.V. shows, obviously. I read trade paperbacks and comics and manga and various other books (though, even as an English major, I'm a slow reader) about anything from nonfiction (I've always been fascinated by other cultures, such as the American South and, most inexplicably, Asia) to fiction, often audiobooks. I play some videogames too. In general, I'm just a big geek :D. One of those side effects of never having even kissed a girl and not having been on a date since around the 2004-2005 :p.

I've written a bit of poetry and some fiction as well, and do that ocassionally.

And, of course, web forums, like this one, because we all know how highly valuable my contributions are here :p.

Now that I'm back at college and our cable hasn't been hooked up yet, I've been going through my large collection of unfinished games. In particular, I've become obsessed with Okami for the PS2. I'm over 25 hours into it, and it's absolutely knocked my socks off. I'd go so far as to say that it's the best game I've played since Ocarina of Time (and I've beaten Twilight Princess already).

Other than that, my Virtual Console is getting some heavy use with Link to the Past and Super Metroid, as well as the occasional round of Star Fox 64.

I'm also trying to get back into reading. Having worked at a book bindery over the summer, I was able to amass a great collection of literary classics. Right now, I'm thinking of reading Malcom X's autobiography, then maybe some Dostoyevsky.

And of course, alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.

Hobbies are fun. When I was fifteen or so, I used to paint ceramics that I would buy at Micheals, I haven't done that in years and I kind of miss doing it because its so relaxing.

Lately though I have found drawing to be a fun activity and writing always puts my mind at ease, too bad I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for stories though, its driving me nuts too.

My hobbies:

1.) Writing fan fiction
2.) Kickboxing and lifting weights
3.) Watching cartoons
4.) Lying in the park and watching the stars (saw a shooting star once)

I think this is a wonderful point; it's perfectly natural to experiment was a few hobbies, but once you get the ones that fit you, you're stuck with it for a good long time. And ditto to physical hobbies giving you a nice feeling immediately afterward ("runner's high" and all that)

But I also would like to suggest hobbies where you give yourself a little quiet time with your mind and by yourself. You have no idea how long I can get lost looking at a painting or a good work of art or how long you can enjoy sitting on the beach at night and listen to the ocean. It's quiet hobbies like that that can also give you a little R & R and recharge your mind, but in a funny way, it's a hobby even though you really don't do anything.

The two main hobbies of mine are basiclly drawing and writing, both of which I equally have fun with. Though I have been filling up my sketchbook more than word documents, but that's because writers block has to exist and I only get the best ideas in my head, until late at night. ...That being said, I need to focus on writing more.

My newest hobbby has been computer art; the combination of paint and Windows Movie Maker. (It's a nasty little program, I warn you.) And I know it's a little basic and simple compared to flash animated programs that are out now, but I'm still learning. DX

...And reading! I've been reading a few mystery/horror and forensics books.

Trust me man, you should certainly read Malcolm X's autobiography. It is a really, really good book.

I write alot, although now that school is starting soon I might not have much of a chance too. I like to draw sometimes when I'm bored as well.

Well now that im not in art class, i have plenty of time to doodle what i want or sketch more than to do it for projects (well, i still did what i wanted for art class, so i shouldnt complain). But im working alot and im also in the middle of moving ( im staying at a house till mine gets done, hopefully soon) so im kinda stuck as of now.

But i did doodle Spike from CB about 2 weeks ago at work waiting for cars to Valet, so i am exersizing that part of my mind.

As for other hobbies, i guess playing video games works, im trying to write a song for my friends band, and id like to sorta get back into painting/building Gundam models again, but that gets expensive for me (but not as much as Mechwarriors im told).

Thats my basic hobbies as of now...

I collect and build Zoids models. They're getting pretty hard to find. Also, I lift weights every other day, which I've been doing for a few years.

Perhaps my biggest hobby though, is anything to do metal music. I try to write album reviews when I can, and discover new bands every day due to the genre as a whole being extremely huge and very diverse. A couple band shirts are on their way from Amazon as well.

Yeah that was a big hobby of mine too when Zoids first came out. (Sigh) It's too bad that they're so darn rare nowadays in stores. I know I have a few models in my house somewhere... but all that comes to mind are the Redler and Command Wolf...

Now, this is my kind of thread.

What have I been doing lately? Well, I've been re-watching the Justice League DVDs I got last year in preparation for JLU, which I finally got.

I haven't been drawing as much as I was at the beginning of the summer, but only because I'm busier (my first job consumed my summer more than I will ever know). And, with work, I'm just plotting ways to spend save my money, whether it be on my collection of animated titles or on an mp3 player, which I desperately need.

Also, I've been chatting on AIM with friends (whom I'd rather see in person, mind you, but circumstances won't allow [unless I'm at work, ironically]). School starts September 5th, so I'll be heading back to them (hopefully the ones I want to see) soon enough.

I'm not against hunting, if you do it for food. My grievence is with the idgits with high powered rifles, scopes, and other contrivances who call it sport. Dude, the animal has ...what now? A desire to find something to eat and be left alone? I guess that goes in their Defense Column. For Offense... not much. Real freakin' sporting, old chum.

Reading Nero Wolfe Mysteries.

Listening to OTR: SUSPENSE, Fort Laramie, Charley McCarthy, and The Lux Radio Theatre.Never was big into McCarthy, but Old Time Radio shows in general are right up there. Right up there with reading Rex Stout. Sounds like a very nice lifestyle.

I think my top three hobbies would have to be:
Drinking soda pop
Kvetching
Hunting for bargains on and playing Video Games

Drawing, knitting and reading, although I don't read as much as I should. I'm a big fan of knitting - it doesn't require a lot of brain energy, it's oddly soothing because it's just repetitive motions and yet productive because you make something pretty by the end of it. I've made plenty of Jayne hats from Firefly.

Also wasting too much time on the Internet. :P

I like taking walks around campus, so now that I'm back at college, I'm doing that again.

I also enjoy writing, although I'm not very good. But still, I love to write, even though most of what I churn out is crap.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm going to be taking up underwater photography pretty soon (once I get a better camera). I even want to recruit my friends to star in little underwater-themed short films once I get a digital camcorder and a waterproof housing. Originally, I was going to sell my films on DVD, but I've decided that it'd work better if I just put them on YouTube or something.

And, of course, I draw. Cartoons, mostly, as evidenced by my DeviantArt page (http://jbwarner86.deviantart.com).
