View Full Version : Discussion Thread For Upcoming Poll #3

I was looking forward to voting for Feat of Clay Part 2... then I saw what it will be up against.
I'm going to have to vote for Mad as a Hatter, which is a very sentimental ep to me.
It doesn't stand a chance in the polls against FoC2 or Per Chance To Dream, one of the best written eps and also features Jervis.
Joker's Favor is probably the best Joker ep there is.
The Clock King is another ep I wish I could have voted for. This is one of those ones everyone still talks about today.
Appointment in Crime Alley is another quite memorable one, but it is definitely lost in this shuffle.
Two Scarecrow eps Dreams in Darkness, and Fear of Victory. The latter being the better and possibly Robin's first appearance.
Eternal Youth probably won't show much presence and I've never seen Vendetta.
Come Monday, who will get your vote?
This is going to be even tougher than this week.

Talk about hardest poll ever! A bunch of top eps will be taken down once this poll comes up. We have Perchance to Dream, Kevin Conroy's fave ep with good reason - looking at Bruce Wayne's perfect world. Feat of Clay is what all Clayface fans are saving their vote for. Joker's Favor has been debated as the finest portrayal of the madman in animated form. Mad as a Hatter is one of the most psychologially powerful character-driven eps there is.
While its kinda wierd to have a thread before a poll starts, you are right: This one will be tricky. I think I'll do a Two-Face and start flippin coins here.

"Joker's Favor" will be getting my vote. Wow, so many great episodes in one poll. This will be a tricky one to predict.

Joker's favor will get my vote too, but it will be VERY tough. There are alot of great choices. Why am I picking Joker's Favor?
1. It's the first episode of B:TAS that I ever saw.
2. I love the demonicly evil way Joker is portrayed in that ep. How he just ruined Charlie "Meatloaf Again?" Collins' life. Just crazy.
3. I think its Harley's first appearence. That's worth something in itself! :)

The episodes are:
21. FEAT OF CLAY PART 2
22. JOKER'S FAVOR
23. VENDETTA
24. FEAR OF VICTORY
25. CLOCK KING
26. APPOINTMENT IN CRIME ALLEY
27. MAD AS A HATTER
28. DREAMS IN DARKNESS
29. ETERNAL YOUTH
30. PERCHANCE TO DREAM
I'm debating between Feat of Clay Part 2 (the best animated episode ever), Joker's Favor (my favorite Joker episode), and Perchance to Dream. Those are the three episodes I'm juggling. This set of episodes is almost flawless...man...this is gonna be a tough choice. Mad As A Hatter is so amazing. Clock King is just perfectly twisted. Appointment In Crime Alley is a very awesome dramatic and gritty episode. Aw man...next week is gonna be a hard week. Although - it will be interesting to see who wins, ya gotta admit...

I'm really interested to see which episode will win the whole thing... I want to see if I agree with it.

I've been saying that poll #3 is going to be the most difficult one to choose from, at least for me. My top 3 would come down to Perchance to Dream, Feat of Clay pt.2, and Joker's Favor. If they weren't in the same poll, I would say that all 3 would've been in the top 10.
On top of that, there's not one bad ep in that batch. Clock King was another great ep, I thought Fear of Victory was a very entertaining ep. Well actually I didn't like Eternal Youth that much. And unfortunately, I haven't seen Mad as a Hatter, but all the rest are good to very good eps.
My pick would be Perchance to Dream though. It has such an incredible plot and a great climax with Bruce going up against himself. And the final lines when Batman angrily asks Mad Hatter why he did that and the Hatter starts crying about how he was willing to give Batman the perfect life just to keep him out of his life. Perfect, in the choice of words, the voice acting, everything.

I'm going to have to go with "Perchance to Dream" also, but that's going to be a killer to have to pass over "Feat of Clay 2" and "Mad as a Hatter" and "Clock King" and "Joker's Favor."

This isn't fair!! I had no idea ya'll were going to do this to me. The Clock King, Joker's Favor, Appointment In Crime Alley, and Perchance to Dream are on my top 10 list. I don't suppose I could vote for all of them could I?? I didn't think so. Oh well, guess i'll have to go watch them again and see which one has a bigger affect on me.

I really am sad to see "Clock King" not make it past the first round, which it most likely won't, but I don't think it could have gone all the way anyway. Still, it remains as one of my favorite episodes. Of course, "Perchance to Dream and "Feat of Clay" would also make that list.

Yeah, Clock King was a great ep. It's really incredible that B:TAS was able to reinvent and popularize so many great Bat-villains.
Heck, before B:TAS, I didn't even know who Ivy was!

Perchance To Dream seems like it may be the winner. The great story easily voertake the mediocre animation. The story here is definatly one of the best produced. But then there's the very twisted Joker's Favor...man...so many hard choices to make. This ain't fair!!

this is where it would be nice is we could do more advanced polls, where one ranks the shows, giving your favorite of the poll 10 points, 2nd favorite 9, etc....
oh well...
geez, @least it won't be as lopsided as this weeks poll...

Very true! My vote goes to naraht's idea!
ADDED: Speaking of lopsided - I wonder how Poll 10 will turn out...

naraht's idea is good, but not doing via the boards, which is how I want the polls done. While it sucks that alot of good episodes are going against each other, it's the only way to do it on the boards. Besides - the polls are underway and it wouldn't be right to change the style now.

Well, looks like we have a plan for the 20th Anniversary polls.

You can see all the polls here (http://wf.toonzone.net/btaspoll.htm).
I'm not a real big fan of any of those episodes, so i'm really not sure which I'd vote for.

You think this is rough now? (I love the Grey Ghost, but I had to go with Heart of Ice in the current poll.) This is nothing. Just wait until we have to pick the single best episode ever! Impossible!

I think it'll be a knock down dragged out fight between "Critters" and "Love Is A Croc". :)

Ooh, the Baby Doll ep, I forgot about that one. Absolutely classic. Baby Doll's got to be one of the greatest villains in all of comic/cartoon history. Makes Joker look like the amateur clown who gets kicked by kiddies during birthday parties.
Hmm, is that the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse I see outside my window? :p

LOL!
At least that poll will give fans a break before the final Round Two comes about. That is gonna be a very, very harsh poll, indeed. Next week's isn't looking all that good as well. It's gonna be getting alot more harder now...:)
