I was wondering, what is the quality of the shipping? I mean, is the comic in good shape when you get it?

I used to, a bunch of years back, when the books were still printed on glossy paper and cost $1.99. And, I got maybe one the was bent (from Marvel I've had more, but I blame the Post Office, because they're obviously bending it in with the rest of my mail, even though it says "Do Not Bend" and my mailbox is big enough to fit packages in! Argghh). Anyway, out of about 5 subscriptions for almost 2 years I only didn't get one issue. When I asked about it, I never got a response.

Oh, and before I forget, I've heard bad things about the timeliness lately. So you'd probably get Batman #600 in July.

I haven't had a subscription for a couple of years, but I can tell you about the timeliness. They say that the subscription comics are shipped out the same day as the ones going to the comic shops, but for some reason they always seemed to show up at least 2-3 weeks late.

My suggestion is to ask about subscriptions through your local comic shop. They might charge a start-up fee (mine was $10), and they will make sure you get a copy of whatever books you sign up for. Some stores give the subscribers a discount (I get 10%) on the comics. The only problem is that you have to worry about going to the comic store to pick them up.

I used to subscribe to all the Superman books. This was a few years ago, but, I wouldn't really reccomend it... the issues often arrived late and/or damaged. I had a similar experience when I subscribed to Amazing Spider-Man from Marvel. Again, this was a few years back, maybe they have cleaned up their act a bit, but, personally, I'd just get to know your local comic book dealer and ask them to hold your favorite titles for you. That's what I do now, and my guy gives me a discount. If you have a cool comic shop nearby, that is definately the way to go, my friend.

I get my comics about a week after the comics hit the stores. The comics when I get them are in good shape. Marvel has had problem with lateness.
