The way I look at it there really isn't one member who is the best. They each specialize in something that the other members don't. Example: Batman is the brains while Green Lantern is the tactician.

Hmmm.... Good point...

Well if I have to pick one I'd have to pick Batman, how many non-powered heros can hang with the justice league AND tell them what to do.

Well, my avatar pretty much says it all. But after all, I'm biased, being from Thanagar and all. And the Thanagarian War is not going well at all. ;)

Spider, I'm in agreement with you. Hawkgirl all the way.

To all the fans of Batman in the League...

Let's be honest. Yes, I agree that, based on the merits of his own previous animated series, Batman is the obvious choice, and only Superman comes close. But let's try to rethink this question. Which member is the best in the Justice League? I think that takes an entire new spin on it.

Have we seen Batman do anything so incredibly impressive? Honestly?

He threatened Deadshot and most of you seemed to be thrilled by that; I wasn't impressed, but whatever. He tracked the Javelin-7 to Paradise Island, (I won't pretend to think I can spell Themsycria,) and he did only the slightest bit of detective work in Paradise Lost as well.

Those of you who have seen me elsewhere on these boards must know that I am nothing if I am not a fan of Batman in his previous animated series. He was great. He was everything I loved about Batman. Everything Batman should be, in my mind, was personified in this representation.

But the Batman in the Justice League? He's a pale imitation of his former self. He's just there, taking up room, not doing much of anything superpowered. He's not really that great on this series. I'm sorry. I know you'll all jump down my throat as though I'm insulting your own mother, but that's the way I feel about the JL's Batman. Hawkgirl, Flash, Green Lantern... they're all more valuable members to this Justice League.

So I voted Hawkgirl.

So I voted Hawkgirl. You forgot to mention a couple other things Batman did in that Aquaman two-parter: He saved Aquaman's life in the hospital.
He intercepted Deadshot's second assassination attempt with a batarang.
He STOPPED Deadshot.
He shut off the big thing at the end and saved the world.
Oh yah, and I think he also contributed to the defeat of that global alien invasion in Secret Origins, as well as provide the Justice League with a headquarters and vehicle.

I'm sure I missed some stuff.

He's still a pale imitation of his former self. Can any of that begin to compare with how great he was in BTAS?

Lets see, in BTAS he was fighting the Penguin, in Justice League he's fighting Hades. I guess when you're villians aren't that strong they make you look great.

We're not comparing him to his former self, but to the other members of the Justice League. Because he's saved the Justice League several times (see Terminatah's post) he gets my vote.

please

will you people begin voting superman if and when the writers decide that he should stop being so weak?

i cant wait for an episode where batman has his bat-arse handed to him and superman comes in and cleans up his mess and solves the mystery

im so sick of batman being put up on some pedastal like he is just so superior to the rest of the league

lets look at the whole deadshot thing

yeah bats stopped his bike but he got supprised by a simple smoke bomb? it took the man of steel to REALLY stop him (for that matter if not for the writers deciding hes no faster than me deadshot never would have made it to his bike)

he stopped the missile

well lets see ANY of the leaguers probably could have accomplished this, but for some reason the writers always decide that the rest of the league somehow dont know how to use their powers AT ALL

he saved aquamans life
well ill grant you this one but whos to say that Supes or GL wouldnt have come up with a solution? or even the doctors after just a LITTLE bit of thinking.....

this may sound like just a mad rant against batman, and it sort of is, but its more a rant against just how USELESS the writers decide to make EVERY OTHER MEMBER OF THE LEAGUE when hes around-- frankly it gets old. wait. its GOTTEN old.

heres a kudos to the writers of the JL animated comic-- they had batman be WRONG in an issue *ghasp* thanks guys-- you give me hope that there are still some out there that remember that the rest of the league are worth something too
