View Full Version : Kids'WB! Renews Shows
Discuss the new series returning, mentioned in Jim Harvey's news post (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=154166#post154166). The returning series include "Pokemon: Master Quest," "Jackie Chan Adventures," "X-Men: Evolution," "The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai" and "Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team."

Imay not have liked all the shows(The Mummy  ), but I guess ratings-wise they all desrved to be renewed. What's up with RH:GRT being renewed though? That show is never on anyways, I guess it's to fill their educational time

Rescue Heroes: GRT is a big Wednesday draw, from what I've been told. I didn't expect it to be renewed, either. Although I doubt we'll get new episodes, just more episodes that CBS didn't air.

I think it was also renewed because the toys are selling very, very well with the recent events of Sept. 11. I'm sure Kids' WB! took this into consideration when they renewed the series. The toys, games, etc. are extremely popular with the little ones. Certainly since Sept. 11, children have been looking up to firefighters and police officers more, and rightfully so.
Makes sense - the real life heroes (Policemen/Firemen/etc) are finally getting a big "resurgence" in popularity and the way people look at them....

My sentiments...
More "Pokemon"....goody....though I presume the Poke-craze having peaked already/other shows coming to the lineup (like "Scooby Doo") will probably mean the end of the heavy emphasis on Poke-stuff....
"Rescue Heroes" would make sense I suppose (some kid at my part-time dept. store job said it was one of his favorite cartoons)...
I presume we'll have to wait for an official fall lineup announcement before learning of the fates of "Yu-Gi-Oh", "Static Shock", "Nightmare Room", etc. etc....

I can already bet ya big bucks that Zeta won't be renewed. I have this gut feeling that this show will be done away with. I bet Cubix will return, as well Static Shock. And I wouldn't be surprised to hear of at least two more new shows outside of Ollie & Drixx, Scooby, and (maybe) TMNT.

I don't think "Cardcaptors" "Static Shock!" "The Nightmare Room" and "The Zeta Project" and will return. I mean, right now, I see four of the five renewed series airing on Saturdays, leaving space for four new series. They've already announced "Ozzie and Drix" and "The All New Scooby Doo," which doesn't leave much time at all on weekends for new shows. Then again, they may renew shows like "Static Shock!" etc. and hold them over to mid-season.

I am happy Pokemon got renewed (not really. I am a Nintendo Fanboy, so anthing that makes money for them makes me happy :p). The Mummy, X-men, & Jackie Chan Adventures are all good shows that deserved renewal.
As for that Heroes cartoon (I forgot the name), I really couldn't care for it. Wasn't that a show on the CBS/Nick Jr. toddler block?.

Pokemon:Master Quest is going to have lots of legendary pokemon in it. Also, a fifth season in Japan is reported to include the revelation of "Ash's" dad.... I'm guessing with only 2 gyms left in Japan that the Elite 4 might be introduced in it. After that? Well, I think the tv movie from 12/30/01 may lead into a new cast for season 6 if Japanese audiences responded well to it.
Oh great. Pokemon gets another name. Can't they just let it be called Pokemon?
I've heard some ramblings that "Yu-Gi-Oh!" may go daily. That would certainly indicate a pick up. This isn't confirmed, but I think Kids' WB! realizes the show's potential and won't drop it so it won't become a hit show on Fox Kids.

You think that will at least show the second season, though, right? As long as they go through with the second season I'll be happy. I wasn't exspecting that TZP would return for a third season, either.

They'll show the second season, as well as "Phantom Investigators," a mid-season show that has yet to air. Doesn't look very interesting though.

Okay, I'm happy now. ;) Thanks.
I thought they had completely done away with Phantom Investegators. Or was it the Sherlock Jones one that they got rid of completely?

"Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century" was sold off to Tribune, who now syndicate the show in the U.S.

Well, it does go by the same name in Japan: Pocket Monsters.
*grumbles* The Pocket Monster logo is better.....

hell yeah, I'd rather see kids look up to those heros rather than something like Pokemon.
Any idea what the fall schedule will bring? MIB the series 2 is coming out and I don't know if KWB has it or not--- no word from Adelaide yet about that.

I'm betting we'll see the next MIB serie son there. In the same format? Perhaps - but I'm sure we'll see more.
Any idea when Ash will be reaching the actual Johto league? I think he has two cities left, right?
