Can someone explain to me why this piece of insulting garbage is getting a second season?

They let Batman Beyond die and pretty much killed Superman:TAS but watch out, the Mummy gets renewed.

Man, Saturday mornings are just getting worse and worse IMO.

Well, it's not like BB and S:TAS didn't get at two or more seasons...

Well, oddly enough there are quite a few of us out there who don't think that it's a "piece of insulting garbage" and basically, good ratings = 2nd season.

I thought the exact same thing when i read this :( . I don't know how they've managed to have as many eps as they do now. I can't imagine how they could possibly have a second season.

Yeah, I keep forgetting about the ratings. Boy that just sucks. The Mummy and Evolution are the two worse animated Saturday morning shows. I can't understand why people like it. Maybe it's just me. I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 80's. sigh! :(

Stagnation. I was hoping for fresher new series next season on the WB. Hey, I don't ask for much. I'm not as demanding as most people in that I demand for Sat AM cartoons to try to be mature and sophisticated, but geez, it's not like you can't make a clear-cut children's cartoon and still have it be fun to watch for most viewers.

At least some of us have Cartoon Network. Praise the lord!

I totally agree with you on that!

AMEN!!

Just out of curiosity, who does like this show? X-men evolution at least has an interesting animation style (even if the story and action are a little lacking). The mummy offers nothing. I always thought that if you've seen the movies you watch this show in complete horror and then never watch it again.

Guys, just so you know, animators and writers from Invader Zim now work for this show, Jackie Chan, and X-Men Evolution.

The Fall season should be heavily improved. I hope.

As they say, another man's trash is another man's treasure - and this applies to television shows, as well. I can't really say I'm a fan of The Mummy. I don't like the animation, find the writing stagnant and repetitive, and that damn animal sidekick that the kid has is ridiculous. But people obviously like this shows, becuase it's #1 for it's slot. Granted, it has the added boost of being a movie tie-in. I was expecting the show's renewel, and wasn't surprised. At least next season they'll be changing it up abit.

I'm just pissed that this show got renewed and Yu-Gi-Oh! didn't :( :( :(

Actually, these shows got early renewels. There is still plenty of time for both Yu-Gi-Oh and Nightmare Room to be renewed. These shows just got early renewel.

I LOVED the movies...I'll admit that. But the show is REALLY bad compared to the movies. I agree with what ya said, JH. But...I still watch it. Don't know why, but I do. Really..I think I just want some decent Mummy action figures. :p

I've seen some indication of Yugi-Oh presence at Toy Fair 2002.

Awesome!! :)

These show slikely got the early renewel becuase of the huge success. I wouldn't be surprised that, when announced in April, the 2002-2003 season resembles this season almost exactly, minus Cardcaptors.

Actually, I've heard some ramblings that "Yu-Gi-Oh!" may go daily. That would certainly indicate a pick up. Then again, this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Yugi-Oh's Mattel press release: http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=447

The showroom display. Hmmm... there's Yugi and those 2 boys I always see fighting over him in Animedia fanart. http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=510&page=1

Nothing conclusive, after all, Cardcaptors had a late '01 line-up (including "Madison") that never hit stores. But it's alot from what I had the patience to load(it's slow)... and human figures to boot. :(

Yu-Gi-Oh has been a big hit on KWB. While it hasn't reached Pokemon status yet, I think it will if it does go daily like what's been hinted.Plus, even though I've only seen a few minutes of the show, it is animated better...but that's a given almost.
