Classic anime from the 90's or so, it had a sqeuel, yes, a sequel, and its pretty good, discuss.

the show had action, comedy, and spunk, i've seen it on Comcast VOD, and it was good...

Jubei-chan 1 was a pretty good, if unpolished, series. The beginning had way too much focus on Jubei's breasts, though.

J2, however, effortlessly blew away the entire first series with just its first episode.

I bought the first series, but unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to see the second series (ironically, one CD in my tiny collection is of the J2 season).

I greatly enjoyed the show, it was like "Kodacha"-goes-samurai-epic. I thought if you combined the two-seasons with "Carried by the Wind" (not related, but a similar theme and made by the same TV creator), it would have made a nice weekly TV series (alas, Adult Swim wouldn't let us see even Jubei Chan 1 except on VOD).

I still wish i can see it on Linear television instead of VOD and DVD.
i havent seen J2 yet because im still watching J1...
