I still can't make out what that caption says on the pic. Stairway to envy? Anyway picked up volume 2 last week, a week early. Comes with a nifty red guitar pick and yes they already announced all 6 volumes will come with a pick.

Watched the first 2 volumes a couple of times. More and more I think I prefer the dub. The Japanese track takes me out of the show too many times with its cringe-worthy engrish and to be honest, I think I prefer the singing in the dub too. Maho especially. And the Japanese singing voice for Koyuki only impresses the characters in the show because of his english.

The dub loses that language duality but it ends up a smoother show because of it. Japanese studios should probably look to hire some non-native Japanese speakers more often--i.e. "gaijin" who are currently living in Japan. I'm getting tired of watching anime shows where some character is supposedly awesome at speaking english, but in reality maybe only to non-english speaking ears.

I just bought volumes 1-5 and I'm loving the dub so far (only watched 4 episodes for the moment).

I think the Japanese version is really fantastic and you lose the culture clash elements with the dub and that's a real shame. I wish they would have had the "American's" be Canadian or European to make them different and keep the occasiona "switching languages on the fly" moment. Despite losing that I do believe the dub is excellent. Especially from a production quality stand point. Excellent casting, acting, directing and scripting all around and actually having the actors sing puts it on a different level than the Japanese version.

Admitedly, I don't really prefer the covers to the original Japanese songs (at least not most of the time). But the production quality of the dubbed songs really make me pine for an English OST.
