Tonight's Cowboy Bebop episode may not air, due to a silly mistake at CN (apparently they lost the tape).
Most likely taking its place will be Brain Scratch.
If it doesn't air tonight, it will probably air next week, in the place of Brain Scratch.
The Party and Teddy Cam reviews will be up soon.

This was the last new ep to air on the WB, as I recall.
Meta-humor moment--Daryl and Wanda mention an odd relative who quotes old Saturday Night live routines. "Pat" is mentioned. Julia Sweeny, the voice of Wanda, was Pat--and I'd swear the miffed quality in Wanda's voice doesn't sound faked! Was that line retroscripted?
Daryl and Carl are a lot more alike than they admit--they both think "Fat chance" at the prospect of being friends (though Carl, being more brusque, says it aloud)...and they both use the tricks they learned off each other (the tracks, the buttercup) to impress their mates. That shows Carl is capable of being sensitive--i.e. falling asleep with the baby--but isn't that good at expressing himself.
Daryl's little feat of strength is not unheard of--adrenaline is an amazing thing--but he's liable to wake up sore and possibly herniated in the morning.
Kids-don't-try-this-at-home-moment: the accelerant in the campfire. "you don't look mad." "He burned off my eyebrows."
The whole "who-will-take care-of-the-kids-if-we-both-die" thing also was a plot on Mad About You..and I think a lesbian couple also factored into that one as well.
"I want to honor you." "'Honor me' honor me, or 'kill me' honor me?"

It wasn't half bad. The premise was a little standard sitcom, and most of the plot turns could be seen coming, in other words, standard for BB, but this episode was done rather well despite all this. In other words, I'd sy it was a pretty good episode, and worth giving a fair chance.

I enjoyed watching this episode and it was one of my favorites so far in the series.
One thing that bothers me is that I can't remember the words to the song that the kids were singing in the back of Carl's truck on the trip to go camping.
Does anyone Know them?

"I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves...everybody's nerves...everybody's nerves. I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves--and this is how it goes. I know a song...." Also memorably performed by Lucky Bob on Histeria!.

This episode proves yet again why this show didn't prosper: TOO PREDICTABLE.
As soon as the couple mentioned they would want another couple to take care of their children in case of their death, it was clearly obvious that the neighbors would be them. Even in the camping trip, I knew immediately that there would be a revelation that would convince them. They dragged this WAY too much.
They did get one thing right though: The neighbors (continuing from last weeks episode) were used in the main storyline. If the neighbors were the main characters, this show would be a hit. But since this was a WB show.......
Overall grade: D+

Those were really the only funny jokes.

In your opinion.
I thought it was a rather good show. I've never seen Baby Blues before... it was interesting. I was a bit annoyed that the father was able to just tear up the steel doors like that, even if it was for a cute joke. It didn't seem to fit in the with the rest of the feel to me... ah well.

Nah..I remember seeing the upcoming episode on WB.. Infact i know what happens next week. I was one of the few people that watched this entire series while it was on it's original run. This weeks episode was good but in my opinion this weeks simpsons episode was better, but those shwos come from two different places so it's wrong to compare. standinga lone this episode in my opnion got an A-. Yeah we've seen the "who's going to keep our kids when we die thing before" but never in such an original way.
ANd wille veryone stop calling the show predictable, EVERYTHING except SGC2C is predictable, you biasedly just set out to make this show predictable so stop it.

I thought this was an OK episode, but the show itself was never all that funny anyways.

I enjoyed seeing more of the nieghbors beside them yelling plus the softer side of Carl was a nice change of pace.

Anyone else find it odd that every carl in AS is very gruff and fat? Just an observation.
Anyway, I kinda liekd this episode. I didnt pay a whoel lot of attention but caught soem decent jokes. Overall, I have to use this grading equation:
Jokes: 40/50
Story: +40/50
Theme Song -20
--------------------------
60/100
D, change that stupid theme song before I stop watching the episode just to avoid it! (this one still has his eyebrows)

In your opinion.
Well, I'm not eager to get tossed off this board (unlike some others in the past *cough*badseed*cough**cough*) but you've been known to fire off some pretty huge opinions of your own Matt. Like when you dissed half the Adult Swim cast, or the spiel about how Home Movies season 2 wasn't better than season 1 and people needed to drop it. With all respect. I just know people are gonna get mad at me for this....

Dude, BNL is great, quit dissing the theme song...

I noticed that too. I figure that, after the (justifiable) failure of the movie "It's Pat", Julia Sweeney wanted to bury the charaacter in the past. How much you wanna bet that Mike O'Malley (voice of Darryl) made that line up on the spot?
I thought this was a good episode that became great in its second half. I loved the camping trip and the subsequent rescue. You never know what you're capable of when faced with a fate worse than death.
Grade: A-
P.S. I agree that people should stop ragging on the theme song. It's a good one, and besides, the thread is called "Post your reviews of 'Baby Blues'", not "Who died and made you the audience of TRL?"

Huh? Home Movies season 2 -is- better than season 1.
Anyway, this is the review thread, and you're welcome to discuss points of the episode, but don't cut each other down. Stuff like "Those were the only funny jokes" is unnecessary, not to mention it's not really an argument or claim because it's just a single sentence reply. I mean, you're free to have differing opinions, but don't think that just because you think your opinion is more valid than someone else's, you can discourage them from liking an episode. They should be free to like an episode if they want.
I hated "Bawk Ba Gawk", and in my review of it, I was generally not very kind to it, but if someone else likes it, I'm not going to rain on their parade or something.
I guess I just can't make good analogies in the morning. o_o;;

I found past episodes of Baby Blues to be funnier. I enjoy the show so far and find it's witty humor amusing at times. This episode in my opinion had some staleness to it joke wise but it still remained funny and kept my attention. Rating: B+

This was the only episode of BB I saw back on the WB and I remember thinking that if the entire series were like this, then I would have watched more. I think it's pretty clever, manages to step outside sitcom cliches on a few instances, and has some genuinely funny moments. It's not great, but pretty good overall. I say B+
