View Full Version : Any of you here go the gym?
Hey,
Don't often find myself in the cafe, but here goes.
Do any of you go to the gym a lot? I started when I came back from a trip to Oz in March as I'd put on most of the weight I'd lost and usually go 3 or 4 times a week now. I've recently started aching so I've been resting this week.
I'm a lot slimmer than I used to be, but I've still got fat in places I'd rather now. A lot of my friends are telling me I'm too thin now, so I've decided to bulk up a lot. I'm relatively happy with my legs, but I'd like bigger arms and a flater chest/stomach.
What about you? What areas are you working on at the gym and what do you do?

I've got all of my gym equipment at home. Basically it's just free-weights; the only stuff that I use that's mechanical is the leg lift machine (or whatever it's called) at the end of the bench. (Most of the exercises listed is stuff I couldn't remember a name for, so forgive my terminology.)
Monday: Arms
Sit-Ups (for abs)
Pullovers (for chest expansion and serratus muscles)
1. Military Press (for neck and shoulders)
2. Biceps Curl (for...biceps >.>)
3. Triceps Curl (for triceps)
4. Outside Forearm Curl
5. Inside Forearm Curl
6. Rear Deltoid Lift
7. Front Deltoid Lift
Wednesday: Legs
1. Squats
2. Sittting Calf Raises
3. Standing Calf Raises
4. Sitting Leg Lift (for thighs)
5. Reverse Leg Curls (for the calves)
Friday: Torso (i.e., Chest, Back)
Side Exercises:
Sit-Ups
Pullovers
1. One Arm Back Pull
2. Barbell Back Pull
3. Butterflies (Pecs)
4. Inner Bench Press (The inner region where the pecs join at the sternum)
5. Inclined Bench Press (The Upper region where the pecs join the collar bone)
6. Standard Bench Press (The rest of the pecs)

The treadmill with an iPod full of good music makes a good time at the gym. Other then that and maybe alittle weight lifting, I don't go there much.

Well, during my swim practice we have dry-land which consists of carido, weight lifting, and core work. it's 3 day/week for about an hour (but we usually go for 1:15).
The off-season starts tomorrow and I usually go to the gym 4-5 days/week so I don't get out of shape.

Yeah, personally, I don't know how anyone can watch shows like Dragonball Z and Naruto and NOT go to the gym. I mean, after seeing the training guys in shounen animes go through, I need to at least go to the gym a few times a week or I'll feel like I'm falling behind. Whenever I feel like quitting, I ask myself, would Rock Lee quit?
Anyway, I try to do strength training three times a week. One day I'll do chest and tris, then the next day I go to the gym I'll do bis and back, then the third day I'll do legs and abs. I've actually only been going about twice a week lately because of work, but I'm going to try to go back to three days a week again.

I stopped for awhile out of personal reasons, but I'm going back again soon. Hopefully the people who run it are more on the ball this time.

NO!
If he could not do 20 push-ups, he would do 30 sit-ups!
If he could not do 15 chin-ups, then he would 25 stomach crunches!
Etc., etc.

Yeah, that's basically the same with me. To warm up, I usually do a three mile bike ride up and down a few hills around town (when I have enough time).

I go five times a week. Day 1 run, back, biceps, abs. Day 2 run, chest, shoulders, triceps, abs. Day 3, run, legs, abs. Rest. Repeat.

Well, right now I have physical therapy three days a week for about an hour for my ACL. My workouts change every couple of days but man do they kick my butt. It's actually probably about 45 minutes of working out and then 15 minutes or so of working my kneecap and stretching so it will be more mobile.
When I'm at school we go to the gym a couple of times a week for lifting during the season and we work more in the weight room during the off season. Also, this year, my goal is to spend more time at the gym than just softball practice. I need more cardio in my life despite hating it. Though I <3 elliptical machines.

I workout in my home. Who needs a gym with a membership when I can work out anytime I want to? D:
