I don't like that episode. They might as well put there Batman Ballet as well. Jeez, Batman Opera just as bad. Hey it's a good thing Bruce didn't like it.

It was a musical and it was supposed to be inappropriately hammy.

What about the rest of the episode? Wasn't it a good story? Wasn't the plot twist unexpected? Wasn't it great seeing Bruce young again?

I'd just like you to justify yourself a little bit more. Don't just take the Bruce Wayne way out, say "It's schwarbage" and walk out. Defend your views.

It's funny -- that play at the beginning could actually come true. WB is still ironging out the spefifics required to make that play happen. What a cruel world we live in, eh?

Anyways, awesome episode.

I personally thought that this was one of the best episodes of the series. The BATMAN musical was awesomely hammy, and seeing all the "revamped" characters on stage was kind of interesting. If they ever put that play on in real life, I'd just have to give everyone SUCH A SMACK... :-P

(Though a darker musical IS possible, I doubt it'll happen.)

And the plot twist was great!

I haven't seen THE DEMON REBORN yet...is this the same voice actor that did Talia's voice on that episode as well, or is it yet another new voice for her?

Same new voice actress as on Demon Reborn.

If Jim Steinman is doing the songwriting (like I heard), don't worry; it'll be good. Steinman is probably one of the greatest, darkest song writers. A mini-opera is found in 'Bat Out of Hell.'

Good listen: Meatloaf's Greatest Hits. Seriously.

Okay, the episode wasn't too bad. Just the first fife minutes of it. ;)

Regardless of the songwriting quality, Batman shouldn't sing.

Could be worse.Remember the old MAD-TV skit, where Schumacher made the next Batman movie a Broadway musical, with Tommy Tune as Batman and Ben Vereen as Robin?

I personally loved this ep too. As for the musical... as long as the real writers don't think of it as much of a joke as Dini did when writing the ep, i'll live :D . It was funny as long as we knew they were making fun of it.

Awesome, awesome episode. This one gave even the naysayers what they wanted: it was all about BRUCE. Especially the hilarious intro of the play. Bruce, feeling old and alone, sees his powerful legacy diminished by a musical as much as his physical prowess is stolen by age. There couldn't be a better impetus for taking a dip in the Lazerus Pit. But ultimately, his strength and code of honor shine through and he REJECTS the prospect of eternal youth as a cheat. He knows it in his soul, and resolutely decides against it- thankfully with no help from a 17 year old Terry, who couldn't have the perspective to see the situation for what it is. (I really want this ep expanded into a 75 minute "director's cut" DVD release.)

Anyways, the Batman Animated world was due for a musical spoof. Haven't you noticed that animation people love to satire musicals? Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, South Park, The Critic, etc. They all have done or continue to do them.

It wasn't meant to be good. It was meant to be cheesy and fun. You weren't supposed to interpret it as an honest-to-goodness effort to be a good play.

Can anyone possibly conceive of Batman Animated doing an entire episode as a satirical musical?
