Though I still think it was the best adult themed show ever with the possible exception of Daria
I liked Team Galaxy a bit, but it's stories were weak. As was Robot Boy and Dragon Hunters. I still got a laugh from them.
Given the hostility Dragon Booster always seemed to get, I'm surprised Storm Hawks is liked. Except that it is an extremely good show.

I think Jetix still has 'em!

Team Galaxy was a major flop for CN. And to be honest, the show was mediocre. It was just more of the same Marathon show plot concept of teenagers from a cliched organization and save the day. Only in this show it's two teenagers and a boy genius from a military academy saves the day in the future. I mean I like Totally Spies because it was a fresh concept that would predate anything else like it(i.e. Kim Possible). Martin Mystery is okay, though I don't know why Marathon turned Martin from an adult archaeologist as he was in the Italian comics into a teenaged secret agent that specializes in paranormal investigations.

Um, Jetix is Disney. Team Galaxy never aired on Toon Disney. You do understand that Cartoon Network and Disney are 2 different studios, right?

Well, Team Galaxy is a Jetix co-pro... in Europe. And, there, Jetix isn't 100 percent Disney.
But, I agree with Don_East... the show (and any following Totally Spies! as created by Chalvon-Demersay and Michel) had an air of the typical new-century Marathon archetype.

26 episodes aired in Canada. Only 13 episodes have aired in the US.

When Disney catches anything from Canada / Europe, it really only means no DVD will ever be released in the US. The rest of Europe is fully provided for. I can't imagine why any overseas studio would ever let themselves get tangled into Disney's litigation morass. It's why I'm going to have to end up buy censored WITCH DVD's from the UK.

Well, A.T.O.M. DVDs are coming out in August, if that means anything. And, from what I read, Jetix Europe seemed to be in full control of the property.
Too bad W.I.T.C.H. is a Disney comic.

I actually like the Marathon shows. The stories are easily forgettable, but I always liked that kind of anime-inspired animation.
Team Galaxy simply never took flight on Cartoon Network, IMO. Based on the performance of Totally Spies, I guess the execs thought they had another hit on their hands, but it just stalled on the launch pad. If only CN didn't have the U.S. broadcast rights to both Team Galaxy and Totally Spies, both could join Martin Mystery over on Nicktoons and maybe each could rotate in and out of their weekday schedule...

Hate to bump an old thread, but CN has started burning off the remaining eps of Team Galaxy on their On Demand. So far, eps 14-24 are available (at least on Comcast).

Got to agree with you on that one. Except for maybe 2 or 3 stories, most reasons I'll watch it is because I like the character designs, animation,or the gadgets/gear the character uses.
A pitty the show didn't do well, some of the future episodes sounded interesting and I was looking forward to some of the toys being made by Bandai.

I'm surprised they're showing them on CN on Demand instead of CN Video. YTV has already aired thruogh episode 26, and 27-52 are supposed to come starting this fall.

Are you serious about the cost? they must have had a lot of faith in that show. do they spend that much for most of their shows or just certain shows?

IIRC, they spent that much on this series because they seriously thought it'd get them high ratings.
As you can tell, it was their biggest bomb since Wulin Warriors.

don't they watch a few episodes first? and nothing is worse than Wulin Warriors horrid failure, at least Team Galaxy aired more than 2 episodes.

Well, they picked it up while it was still being produced, and probably saw that it looked promising.
And, yes, it wasn't as big of a bomb as Wulin Warriors, but it still bombed pretty hard (really, only a 1/4th of Team Galaxy aired on CN, after having paid that large of an amount for it).

Well, to add to Veemonjosh's post. They have been airing Totally Spies!and i think the movie aired around then too, and that did modest in the ratings. And Marvin Mystery was doing well on Nick/Nicktoons, so they picked it up..

It looks like Cartoon Network does have season 2 episodes after all.

That doesn't mean CN wouldn't have it first. They helped fund the producing, and the first season began airing on CN before it began on YTV.

I don't know that it's more popular, but it does help YTV fulfill the X number of hours of Canadian actors they have to air.

CN made the mistake of ordering 52 episodes when the series was in production. YTV waited until they had seen a couple of episodes before ordering the series.

You know, I'm really starting to think that some of the posters on this board could run Cartoon Network better than the people who are currently running it. I mean, as soon as people on this board saw pictures of Team Galaxy, they knew it would be a disaster. Everyone also predicted Wulin Warriors would bomb, and it did. I mean, can the people who run Cartoon Network really be that blind that they can't see an obvious bomb?

I liked it too... had a kickin' theme song too...
But I felt the quality of episodes was rather uneven at time. Some were good, other...not so much. It happens a lot with Marathon.

And to add to that, the second I saw production art of Camp Lazlo, Squirrel Boy, and Gym Partner, I knew they'd all be terrible shows.
And you know what? I was right (though, admittedly, Gym Partner is probably the least terrible of the bunch, as I can actually sit through it without gagging).
