Well, it was actually a little more than just assistant work - she drew the dailies while Alvarez handled the Sundays (at the time, Alvarez was working on a side project that prevented him from devoting all his attention to the strip, so he needed someone to fill in for him on the artwork for most of the week).

Its the posterboy dub for why people hate English dubs.
I saw it before I saw the Japanese version then I went back and watch some dub episodes. The plot was completely different, character interactions were nearly the opposite, no one had a crush on anyone in the English version-- in the Japanese version there were love triangles everywhere. Of course, they also changed character names to make everything American, they changed Sakura's personality too, she's overly adorable in the Japanese version as I'm sure you can tell by the art work of her. So very very strange to compare the two.

Am I the only one who isn't impressed with drawings depicting American cartoons done in an anime style, no matter now good the drawing looks?

I'm probably the only one who thinks that way, I'm sure. I always get the vague impression that the artists are trying to "improve" the look of something when rendering it in anime style.

I think those Chipmunk drawings would be quite a bit funnier if drawn with a more American slant. Especially that Dave one, which is a good concept.

This is an excellent example of an action drawing. It may be the best one I've ever seen. When used properly, speed lines go a long way. There are no sound effect poster letters, but you can hear the horrendous noise anyway.

For the last few days my entire dA browsing has just been on this guy's account. He's really good, yet he gets about as many visitors as me.

EDIT: So he was politically ranting again, and I cracked "I think we should outlaw all beliefs that are offensive to Andy."
He cracked back, "Well, there goes Christianity."
I said, "Yup, it's concentration camp time for us, I guess."

He's among the top 3 guitarists on the planet and no one knows who he is.

It is really hard to make female characters look cute during wild takes like that, but I'd say he succeeded admirably.

I forgot to mention, I haven't had CN since March, I guess I need to look into this..
EDIT: OH yeah, I remember seeing a commercial for the Outsiders. I thought it was kind of appalling. I'm surprised those who believe some ghost activity can be attributed to demons haven't gotten all up in arms about a show where real kids go in search of real ghosts. [or is it all staged? Either way...]
