Beast Wars and Beast Machines are both in the same canon, but radically different shows. Which show did you think was better?

This is going to be so one-sided.

Beast Wars easily,

My biggest gripe with BM was the whole Cybertron becomes a giant garden,FOR GOD'S SAKES,IT'S A HOMEWORLD FOR ROBOTS!!!!!!!

thank you.

In my opinion, I like Beast Wars the best. I found Beast Machines to be pretty boring.

I loved Beast Wars, they had many good episodes and plots. That show was just great, especially one to grow up with (one of the many gret shows of the 90's).

Beast Wars was an excellent show that had real character development given to its main cast. Plus, this was at a time when Mainframe Entertainment was in its prime, having excellent CG animation and top notch writing.

Beast Machines on the other hand, just was overrun with bad writing altogether and even dumber plots. I'm sure everyone wanted the guy who came up with the whole "organic cybertron" idea to burn at the stake.

My opinion was definitly Beast Wars. Beast Wars had a great plot and wonderful characters.

Beast Machines just messed up everything that was established in Beast Wars like Rhinox being evil and all this stupid organic junk.

Beast Machines took out everything transformers and inserted a ton of hyper environmentalist hippie crap. Better left forgotten in the dustbin of horrible ideas where it belongs.

Beast Wars, bar none.

Although I now appreciate Beast Machines more than I used to.

Beast Wars was the better series, but I think there was some great potential in Beast Machines.

Beast Machine Spoilers
Like how Optimus Primal went completely insane, and I liked how Rhinox was first forced to be evil then decided he wanted to stay that way.

There were a lot of curveballs thrown in the series, but I think because of the length of the series they came too quickly and felt forced.

Beast Machines characters bordered on the obnoxious, even more than Beast Wars characters.

Pretty much every character underwent a useless paradigm shift. Heck, just look at what they did to Rattrap.

And the dialogue... gah. I thought the early episodes of Beast Wars had terrible dialogue, but they have nothing on some of the stuff in Beast Machines.

Beast Wars, though i did like the fact that they brought back vehicle TFs in BM, too bad the writing couldnt support it though.

I liked Beast Machines a lot, but Beast Wars was truly better.

While the general idea for Beast Machines was pretty flawed to begin with, I thought there were some good spots. There were indeed a lot of pointless character and philosophy changes, but I could appreciate it as a standalone series. Finding out the fate of the various Beast Wars characters and the cause for Megatron's rule over Cyberton is what kept me watching. There was just too many bad things in Beast Machines to even compare it to Beast Wars. I got to talk to Scott McNeil at one of the anime conventions last year, and even he vocalized his disdain for Beast Machines.

As for Beast Wars, I think that's been pretty much covered.

Wow, someone voted for BM? That's a surprise.

Anyway, Beast Wars was essentially a better show. A better story, better characters, and overall better atmosphere.

Beast Machines was built on lies, and needlessly made Rattrap into a cripple.

I have the complete series of Beast Wars DVDs but, I don't yet have Beast Machines complete series DVD, and, I have seen too little of Beast Machines to know much about it. But based on what I read here I think Beast Wars is better.

I'm quite happy and content to pretend Beast Machines never happened. :)

Same here. Primal and friends went home, Cybertron was cleaning up the mess Unicron and the Blendtrons had left, no organic Cybertron.

Let me put it to you this way. Dreamwave, back when they had the TF comic license, was going through great pains to completely eliminate Beast Machines from its continuity.
