Hey all, I was wondering something: since Grey Delisle plays both Mandy and Dr. Gastly on Grim & Evil, does she get paid twice as much?

I would geuss not twice as much but she probably gets more money in her contract.

I doubt it....Voice actors frequently double up. I haven't actually watch Grim & Evil...so I don't know how large the parts are, but I really do doubt that she gets double pay.

I'd guess she gets a little more for playing a 2nd role, but not double.

Paid double? Dream on pal. Voice actors are hired espically if they can play more than one role in the series. She doesn't get paid double.

Well, that's normally true. But you have to remember that she plays not just a main character and another little character, but two principles.

isn't mandy and dr. ghastly both a main character though?

Yeah, that was my point. Main character, principle character.. same thing. You'd think she'd ask for twice as much since without her they'd have to hire two other actors anyway.

No..they'd hire another actress willing to do both roles....

Welcome to the world of Suply & Demand, and in voice acting...there's alot more Supply, than Demand.

True true. But what if they couldn't find anyone who could do both of the voices right?

They'd probably hire somebody who could do both voices acceptably well (at least in their opinion.)

Heaven knows it's happened before.

Dominoes...I dunno..but I seam to think you don't fully realize the type of world that is Hollywood. You seem to be struggleing with the idea that people get paid for what they do, and not who they are. A noble Idea, but it isn't how things work. Especially in Hollywood.

You're shocked by the idea that a diffrent actress could do the voices, but that sort of thing happens ALL THE TIME. DBZ, almost every character has been re-cast @least once, some even twice..and that's not an issolated incident.

Also, you seem to think that being able to do both voices is some for which the actress should be rewarded....when in fact, the fact that she could do both voices was probably the thing which got her the part in the 1st place. It's sad...but true.

But I'm not the guy to listen to. I recomend you get out a pen & paper (do people remember those?) and
WRITE HER c/o
Cartoon Network
1050 Techwood Drive
Atlanta, GA 30318

You'll hopefully get a responce. Ask her if she gets paid extra, then let us know.

=D

Actually "David Feiss" created the show. Infact, I am Weasel was originally a bed time story for his child.

I actually know David Feiss (via net) :) .

lol! You're pretty funny :) Actually, I know a lot more about hollywood than you think. I myself have been a voice actor for almost 10 years now. I was only wondering because I've never been in that sort of situation, doing mostly radio. DBZ, you have to remember, is a Canada thing. Things work differently up there than in Hollywood. Also, in most cartoon shows, characters are auditioned for seperately and only the actors who are known for playing various voices are asked to audition for more than one. So chances are that she didn't get hired for playing them both, they probably just asked her if (example only) she could do Dr. Ghastly after they saw her work as Mandy.

Thanks for the addy though. But it's pretty rude to ask anyone what they make ;)
