At this writing, and according to Hasbro's press releases, it's looking pretty bleak on the JL Toys horizon. Didn't Toon Zone post a story predicting a toy line not long ago? I wonder what their source was... I even made mention of it on my site. Of course, we've all been hoping for this.
Oh well, I guess those Marvel Zombies have all the fun...

That really sucks. Well I already have customs of Martian Manhunter and Flash. I guess I should go ahead with Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern then.....

this really sucks..........alot. its like their hanging on to the license just to torture us. they have star wars, came with a great line up of stuff for that, and no doubt they'll keep making tons of money on that....but as for batman......we're getting screwed AGAIN, this is like three years in a row. Why can't they just pass the license off to DC Direct.......ah well, I hear the Smallville figures are looking pretty sweet.

Thanks for another great line of repaints Hasbro. To think that we thought we'd get some new figures, you certainly showed us.

Grrreeeeaaaatttttttt, there's 4 more glow in the dark figs coming. That's just wonderful, Hasbro. Another Mr. Freeze repaint. That makes 3 total.
Yeah, I heard there was not going to be any JL figs a few days ago. Typical, or maybe Hasbro doesn't have the license after all, though I can only dream.

Great...more...Batman...repaints! I am very dissapointed. Especially after being told time and time again that they were coming! Man, this really burns! Well, Hasbro would've ruined the license anyways so maybe it's for the best.

Well, it's about freaking TIME Batman glowed in the dark! All those sleepless nights laying awake hoping for a batman that couldn't possibly hide in the shadows were answered. And now, just when I feared this glow in the dark craze might be short lived hasbro reassured me with with another wave of delicious repaints! Thank GOD I dont have to burn money in my wallet on something as ridiculous as a Flash or Martian Manhunter... anything even remotely new! Heck I'd take Farmer Brown at this point! WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
So does this mean we wont be seeing ANY JL figures or does it just mean that we wont be seeing them for like 3 years? Doesnt Hasbro know how much money can be made off of a JL line?
And wasnt there supposed to be a new 4 pack? Wouldnt that be at toyfair??? :(

Hasbro is a bunch of morons. All they seem to care about is Star Wars. I want JL figures and I want them now!!!!!!

Actually, the Batman line is there bread and butter. It's consistent seller. It was the Episode I travesty that almost put Hasbro into bankruptcy, thanks to the huge amount of $$$ they had to pay Uncle George. Coupled with overproduction, they almost went belly up.

Kill--KILL! HASBRO EXECS MUST DIE! WE'VE BEEN WAITING ALL YEAR FOR SOME SORT OF BONE FROM THEM! I WANT SOME [...] JUSTICE LEAGUE FIGURES! Sob...

Ahem, sorry. Anyway, it probably won't do us any good, but it's about time for us to start a new petition. I'm powerful mad right now, and I want to vent.

THIS IS AN UPROAR!!!!!! IS HASBRO MAD????? DO THEY NOT REALIZE THEY WILL MAKE MORE OF THEIR BELOVED CASH IF THEY JUST RELEASE A DAMN JL TOYLINE??????!!!!!!!!!! I hope this means that Hasbro does not have JL rights, because if they do they're obviously only using them to make more Batman variants, which is a VERY bad move!
See ya!

Hasbro doesn't have to worry about going bankrupt, they have Star Wars which sells no matter what apparently. There's like two good batman products a year if you want to include the toys r us exclusives (which by the way, are never at toy fairs so we have to wait a month before their out to see them), and the new batwing and batmobile are probably the two for this year. Now lets hope this new Ra's and Talia 4-pack will be somewhat pleasing......

AOL/TIME WARNER needs to pull Hasbro's Batman license. They've got enough money to shut Hasbro up and send all of the JL toys through DC Direct. Hasbro can kiss my ***** for thinking that I'll buy anymore of their crappy, sucky repaints!

Well, Hasbro would've ruined the license anyways so maybe it's for the best. I don't know why they can't make more creative figures and STOP with all the repaints. I thought Marvel had the dibs on repaints. I would rather spend money on different style action figure than repaints. STUPID and a shame. Where's WONDER WOMAN when you need her? :(
Is there no such thing as diplomacy anymore?!?! Does anyone remember the days when actual business meetings took place to close deals? Doesn't DC Direct have some likable person to go talk to Hasbro's president and get them to sign over their DC rights, since they seem too busy with their other lines to concentrate on it??!

Good plan. Petitions got us B:TAS on DVD.

Well, I'm at least glad to see that I'm not the only one so bummed by this. It's so unfair to see all the groovy stuff the Toybiz/Marvel machine offers their fans, and then to feel completely abandoned by DC. And I for one DON'T want DC Direct to get the chance to do the JL Figures, 'cause it'll cost $15 a pop!!
Sorry, but I'm not in love with DC Direct -- each time I buy one of their figs, I feel a little cheated. I mean, Marvel offers their Legends line for about half the cost -- and they're beautiful figures available in mass retail outlets. I wonder if there would be a conflict of interest for Toybiz to reclaim the DC license?
If so, I wouldn't mind seeing Art Asylum or even Playmates take over for DC stuff. AA's Enterprise figures look great, for example.
Anyway... VERY bummed about all this.

As long as the figures are sculpted properly and are to scale with the old animated lines I dont care who makes them. The cool thing about DC direct though is that they cater towards fans and would make pretty much EVERYBODY important. I dont necesarrily want the JL line to have the "Battle ravaged wolverine" syndrome that Toybiz's marvel lines have... still anythings better than Hasbro  ... I could make a better line of toys... granted production would be slow but still ;) ...

If Hasbro would lay off the repaints I wouldn't mind them doing it since they give us good stuff most of time. Not exactly on model with some characters but close enough. I wouldn't mind a few super articulated Medicom dolls.

I want Hasbro to do the Justice League line so long as they are the same size as B:TAS and S:TAS, aren't more than 12$ Can. each and will feature more new figures than repaints. DC Direct handles oversized toys. Let's keep them away from this, and let Hasbro and DC know that they can't keep us waiting - as if that would change their minds!LOL They'll keep us dangling for another year if they want to - they have the power

Remember folks: be polite, we want something from them! And what we want is Justice League figures! Lots of them! Thanks to the show we could potentially get a line of figures that rivals the variety of Star Wars. I've had it with them! Let's get heard!

We may be angry at Batman repaints and the lack of JL, at Toyfair, but it just doesn't measure up to this line...possibly one of the lamest ever conceived. Funny stuff:

Yeah, it's marked 3 and up and I even like the correct one but c'mon this is such a waste.
LOL, those would actually be cool had they not gotten worse than Hasbro with variants. Even the Batman line hasnt stooped to the September 11th variants. Policeman SPidey and Fireman Spidey in particular. Can't forget construction worker Hulk either. Funny thing is these arn't exagerated names for once, like when people say neon orange Batman. Finally Batman isn't the MOST pathetic line, only 2nd most.

Yeah, but it gets even scarier than that. Has anyone ever seen "Beach Going" Spidey? Or "Astronaught" spidery? Or any of those other putrid 10 inchish ones??? If not you're lucky. It is thoroughly disturbing!
...then again at least they come out with that garbage AS WELL as good Spiderman toys... all batman gets anymore is crap.

I guess I was so amazed by the Spidey line that I didn't catch on to the Sept. 11th theme. Your right. Anything to cash in.
Yeah, I've seen those 10 inchers. There's a newer sports line, now. Everything but Football Spidey.
That whole news about Hasbro not wanting to do JL is sick and wrong. It's typical, though. Still, it steams me IF true.

Weeks ago, back when the post of 2 action figure assortments and vehicles was putup here I told you all that we had NEVER had the JL license confirmed as going to Hasbro. I posted it here and on the DCDirect board at dccomics.com.
Since them, other posters there have stated they know people at DC and the JL license has not been picked up by ANYONE.
Get mad at Hasbro for crummy repaints of Batman and his clan. Get mad at the fact they only give us 1 new character per quarter in a 4pack that costs 20$. Get mad that the Batman license prevents DC Direct from making Batman family members. But don't get mad at a company for not making something they do not have the right to make.
Oh yeah, there was one other good idea. Hasbro actually doesn't sell to you and I. They sell to Walmart, Target, Toys R US, etc. Maybe we should write to - say Target - and tell them we want JL figures.
DisneyBoy
02-20-2002, 09:22 AM
Oh, no not Target! Toy R US - otherwise I'll never get my hands on any JL figs...
Then again, Lois and the new Batcave were from Toys R Us and I still didn't get them up here! Hello...anyone remember that little frozen country called CANADA???
