So... Whacha gonna get?
I'm definitely getting the Zoo Crew Mini... which ties in with Countdown somehow... Weird.

I might grab "Batman and the Outsiders" just 'cause that was one of my favorite books growing up, even if it bears little to no resemblance to the original.
"Batman: Death in the City".
Probably the "Suicide Squad" TPB.
Maybe the new LSH if I'm still onboard with that in October.
Don't know if I can pass up the Ambush Bug mini-mate.

So... Whacha gonna get?
No,no,no...let me explain it to you; it's done like this:
SOWHATCHAGONNAGET?!?! ;)
Anyway, here's my list of stuff to pick up:
Detective Comics #837: As long as Dini writes them, I'll buy them...
Justice League of America #14: I'm becoming more and more confident that Dwayne McDuffie will make it worth my while to stick with this title after Meltzer leaves, (in fact, he should be an improvement over Meltzer...)
Jonah Hex #24: A new artist?!? Okay, we'll stick with this book...
Ex Machina #31
Scalped #10
On the "Maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't" list:
Booster Gold #3: A Jonah hex tie-in?!? The solicitation text alone is enough to get me interested...
Geez, there's so many tie-in's to Countdown this month, it's enough to make the eyes bleed...

Is it just me, or is DC putting out way too many series to coincide with Countdown or to spin-off of 52? I was going to pick up The Four Horsemen, Metal Men, The Outsiders Five of A Kind one-shots, The Zoo Crew miniseries, the new Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fights, Infinity Inc., and a few others, but it's just too many series. They're becoming what Marvel was at one point. There's no need for all these series. I know I don't have to buy them, but they all look so good. My DC trade collection is definitely going to grow, though.:D I just don't feel like spending that much on DC and then buying my Marvel stash, my Sonic the Hedgehog, my Walking Dead, my Astounding Wolf-Man, etc.:D

I plan to buy:
Superman #668
Superman #669
I'm thinking of buying:
Countdown Special: The Flash 80-Page Giant
I would buy the Capt. Carrot mini, except it's a followup to that awful Teen Titans story with Alley-Kat-Abra turned into some anti-mouse murderer... meh... count me out, unless this miniseries brings her back to the side of good/not being David Duke-like. :-p

COUNTDOWN 30-26
DETECTIVE COMICS #837
BOOSTER GOLD #3
BATMAN #670
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #10

ACTION COMICS #858
SUPERMAN #668
SUPERMAN #669 - should the last sentence be considered a spoiler?
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #41
SUPERGIRL #22
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #14
JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #10
THE SPIRIT #11
TEEN TITANS #52
WONDER WOMAN #13
i don't seem to be affected by the countdown tie ins that much, but i'm sick of seeing them. can we go a whole decade without "events"??? the comics industry was able to make it since the 40's to mid 80's without "events". we can make it too!
is the flash going to be the only hero to get the countdown special: 80 page giant? this is one tie in i would gladly welcome if other heroes are featured and have 80 page giants.

Getting
-Countdown #30-26
-Countdown Presents: The Search for Ray Palmer - Crime Syndicate #1
-Batman #670 - I've never been a fan of Ra's, but Morrison's yet to disappoint me on the title yet, and you know it'll tie into "Batman & Son," which was surprisingly good.
-Robin Annual #7
-Robin #167
-Action Comics #857/858 - I'm really getting tired of Bizarro. It's getting old. Fast.
-Brave and the Bold #7
-Justice League of America #14 - I thought the Injustice League was supposed to be one from each hero? Line up seems very generic.
-JLA/Hitman #2
-Teen Titans #52
Might Get
-Tales of The Batman: Tim Sale HC - Depends whats in it. I have a lot of his stuff, but if it's the more rare stuff, then I'm all in.
-Justice League of America: Batman figure - Very nice looking.

- Might get that DC Halloween Special. Sounds like fun. And did anybody else notice that David Arquette (as in Mr. Courtney Cox) is contributing a story?
- I see there's a "Resurrection of Ra's al-Ghul" storyline in the Batman titles. So how long did that one last?
- I love Eric Powell (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200710/superman_batman/AC-Cv857_solicit.jpg)
- Don't see a lot of "Day of the Dead" imagery in comics covers, but luckily Darwyn Cooke is around to make up for that (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200710/dcu/SPIR-Cv11_solicit.jpg).
- Gail Simone picks up her first issue of Wonder Woman. Will probably grab it in the store to see if I'm in for the trade.
- Will probably grab that JLA: Classified Ultramarine Corps TPB to go along with the rest of the Grant Morrison JLA TPBs.
- I'm on the fence with the new Robin: Teenage Wasteland TPB. I liked the first one OK, though not sure if I'm desperate for more.
- Going to have to get that Showcase Suicide Squad TPB. Awesome comics, but if I can't get 'em in TPB or DC Archives editions, I'll settle for the Showcase volume.
- Definitely ordering the new Ex Machina and American Virgin TPBs.
- Pretty cool cover to The Highwaymen #5 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200710/vert_ws/HWYM-Cv5_solicit.jpg).
Boy, that's a really tiny list of stuff to order from DC.

Simon Dark #1 sounds like its either gonna be really cool or suck big time. I like this kinda stuff though so I'll give it a try.
I ordered the two previous issues so I'll get Action Comics #857 to wrap up the Geoff Johns Bizarro arc. Not really a big Supes fan, but I'm using this arc as a trial.
THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #7 is tempting...I might get it even though I don't have any interest in Wonder Woman or Power Girl, Waid and Perez are a great duo.
Anyone reading Checkmate? I've heard its a great read, but I'm not especially knowledgeable of DC continuity, should I steer clear?
JLA/HITMAN #2 sounds like a laugh, but I'll wait and pick it up on the racks.
FABLES #66, love Fables.
THE VINYL UNDERGROUND #1 looks like its worth a try.

I read the first TPB and didn't find myself lost. They fill you in with what you need to know. It passes the basic test of being cool enough on its own merits that the continuity is just a bonus, not a requirement. Plus, anything that puts Amanda Waller back in the spotlight as the manipulative, conniving, nasty, and thoroughly enjoyable person she was back in John Ostrander's Suicide Squad comics is OK by me. Definitely gets my recommendation.

Scott Shaw! has dropped some hints that this is exactly what he and Bill Morrison are planning. Go to http://comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=11491 for more info, but beware of spoilers.

Considering I wasn't planning to buy it until after it came out (and only if it meets the restore-Alley-back-to-normal requirement per my remark above; otherwise, not interested), not concerned about spoilers in this case. In any case, I'll believe it when I see it/hear about it... ;-)

Does this list include Wildstorm books?
I've been waiting for the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier TPB that's supposed to be coming out in October.
EDIT: Never mind. I just found out that it's been pushed back to November.
