The Bratz movie is real as well, and I had to sit through a THREE-minute trailer before Ratatouille this afternoon; it used that currently overplayed Avril song as background, splicing the "I DON'T LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND" portion in an endless loop for 45 seconds at the trailer's climax.
As for this....well, whatever finally gets DVD sets of the Chipmunk cartoons out.

I was wondering when they were going to "hip-hop-ize" Alvin. Ulgh. Haven't movie companies learned from Scooby Doo, Garfield, etc.? I never did like Alvin, and now I hate him. "Please Christmas, never come!" ;)

Speaking of which, I never saw the Garfield movies or the Scooby Doo sequel movie. Terrible.
WHEN DO I GET MY PINKY AND THE BRAIN MOVIE?

I saw that commercial too. Overly cliche'd themes. I'm so sick of movies made about teenagers made for children. They're very unrealistic and make children think they need to create cliques well into their teens when cliques should be a fading trend by that point.

Judging by recent trends, would you really want one?

Exactly. Now if somebody who had noticed the true P&TB self wanted a movie based off the cartoon, then it would turn out great. But that somebody's got to be careful on the subject.
Juding on the poster meanwhile, as I said on the TV.com forums:
"It's like giving Garfield some ragged-up clothing from gangsters."
Okay, so that's not really what I had in mind... but that was close to what I originally spoke of.

I like to dream that the world is a different place and we can get one the way we want it.. ;__;

Theyd probably hire that guy who played J. Peterson on seinfeld to play brain and make pinky smarter so as not to "offend" anyone, and the plot would probably have them trying to SAVE the world from evil scientists or something like that, meaning the entire spirit of the show would be dead.

Very true, you forgot the cameo appearance by Elmyra.

So basically all this guy does is play half the cast from Alvin and the Chipmunks?

I wonder if he plays some of them in the movie...
...DUDE He's producing the movie???

Joe Towne is listed under "archival sounds." Jesse McCartney is playing one of the chipmunks, which goes to show who they're aiming this movie for. I had the idea of modernizing the Chipmunks back in 1995 when I did a few comic books of this nature. I was only 13 at the time.
Egad. CGI chipmunks? I don't think so. This looks worse than the Cat in the Hat movie with Mike Myers. *shudders* Putting cartoon animals into a life action setting seems to be a popular trend. I saw the trailer for it. It looks bad, to say the least.
"Jesse McCartney is playing one of the chipmunks"
And again I say egad.
