Who here remembers watching this cartoon based on the movie? Unfortunately it's been off the air for several years, I was curious if anyone watched it? I remember watching it as a kid, and then later watching the film, and being very dissapointed by the film (actually a little later I grew to appreciate the film more, and it's now one of my favorite films).

So anyway, from the cartoon show, who was your favorite character. I always kinda liked Lydia. I think she was more likeable, less anoying in the cartoon, than in the original film. I also like Jasque the french skeleton.

Going with Beetlejuice on this one. He wasn't up to Micheal Keaton's performance, but he was still fun to watch. I just wish Boomerang would pick this show up, or WB would give it a proper DVD release.

Episodes of the cartoon can be found on www.in2tv.com (http://www.in2tv.com) if you're interested in reliving (redying in this case) as ghostly memories. But here's the link if you want to go straight to the cartoon:

I voted for BJ himself. Without the "ghost with the most", there was no show.

BJ of course.

I have to go with the title character here. Beetlejuice himself was the best thing about the movie and the same goes for the cartoon.

BJ without a doubt!

Thanks for the link, I was glad to see the cartoon again. Actually what resparked my interest in the cartoon, was seeing the movie again last night on abc family. It interesting how different the cartoon was as opposed to the movie. Although Beetlejuice is roughly the same cheatin' loudmouth funnyman in both incarnations. But Lydia is so much different in the movie and in the cartoon. In the film she has a more restrained goth persona; in the cartoon, not so much. Also, her and BJ are best friends, but in the film, they.... um... aren't (I remember being so confused by this when I first saw the movie years ago).

Oh, yeah, and in the cartoon there was the absence of the Maitlands. Why they're gone in the cartoon is beyond me (I guess they crossed over finally, and BJ decided to stick around anyway).

Beetlejuice. However, I personally think the concept of him and Lydia as friends was a stupid idea. After what a jackass BJ was to her in the movie, it's doubtful Lydia would want to hang out with him.

The ghost with the most, of course... though the Monster Across the Street, Lydia, and Mr. Monitor were amusing as well...

I was just thinking about the cartoon. Did you happen to watch Beetlejuice on ABCFamily last night too, Brandon?

Obviously since BJ has such an extreme standout personality, it'd be better to make a cartoon with him as the main character rather than the Maitlands, and since they needed a kid character, they made him and Lydia friends.

I'd have to vote "Other" on that poll because my favorite was Armhold Musclehugger. And why isn't Scuzzo on there?

That's one of my favorite cartoons of all time when it used to come on Saturday mornings, Nick, & CN, since I wish they'll bring it back though.

Here's my favorite characters

Good Guys:
Beetlejuice - he's so hilarious & freaky with his many impressions/shape-changings and loves bugs.
Lydia
Lydia's friends
Sappyface Ghouls
Beetlejuice's brother
Mr.Monitor - he's interesting with 4 TVs for a head
Small Head

Bad Guys(which the villains were pretty cool/interesting)
Scuzzo the Clown
Bartholomew Batt - that funny black 'n' white bat character
Beetlejuice's jerk skeleton & funny bone
Germes Pondscum - an amoeba James Bond rip-off
The Sheriff of Rottingham - a big stinkin' warthog
those bad superheroes
those bad Olympics animal dudes - the bull, rhino, hippo, & gorilla
Lipscum - the stupid lips character

Gosh, I used to adore this show. My mom and I still love the movie and we'd watch this cartoon all the time. She loves Beetlejuice, but I'm a Lydia fan. =d

I just happened to come across this fanfic, where it sort of "explains" how they became friends, as well as what became of the Maitlands.

B man himself in the series. Wasn't a fan of his character in the movie, sure he was funny but he was also more gross in the movie so meh.

I don't think fan fictions are reliable concerning things like this.

My favorite character was Lydia, she was just so awsome. She had a great sense of humour, her own sense of style and and a very subtle grace to her. I had a major crush on her when I was a kid.

I haven't seen the show for a while, but Lydia. There was somethin' about her, you know?

I seem to have a thing for Goths in cartoons (Sam, Raven, Ophelia, Rogue, Joan from "Clone High," etc...), since if there's one on the show, I usually rank them as the or one of my favorites...

I vaguely remember it, but I think I liked it. And whoever did the voice for Beetlejuice was superb. It tickled me the way he always referred to Lydia as "Babes!!!" :p

Yay. So I'm not the only one who kinda had a toon crush on her as a kid? Phew that's a load off my mind.

What's funny is, as I mentioned earlier, I didn't like the Lydia character much in the main film (what a downer), but in the cartoon she's more cheerful/inthusuastic, but still as the unusual goth side.

This was one of my favorites. I wish it would be released on dvd.

My favorite in the cartoon was Lydia. I always wanted to be Lydia and have Beetlejuice for a best friend and go on adventures in the Neitherworld. Beetlejuice himself would be a close second.

I might be in the minority, but I always preferred the cartoon to the movie, not because I didn't love the movie version of BJ and Lydia, but because there were no Maitlands and Beetlejuice and Lydia were the main characters. I much prefer them as the main characters, and I liked them as friends.
