Dinsey had nothing to do with the creation or production of Muppet Babies. The series was a co-production between Marvel and Jim Henson Productions. Disney only acquired it after it purchased the rights to Henson's works after his death.
And chances are that it will a be very cold day in a certain very hot place before you ever see Muppet Babies on DVD, or anywhere else for that matter. The series used a lot of copyrighted material in every show (heck, the opening title sequence alone contained footage from Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark), meaning that if it were ever to come out on DVD, they would have to shell out big bucks to all of the various movie and TV studios they borrowed material from, which would be a lot of money. As such, the series will probably be buried in legal red tape for quite some time, so it's probable that Muppet Babies may never see the light of day again.

It's similar to Daria's situation, which uses a lot of pop culture music. Though with Daria all they'd really have to do is replace all the music... Muppet Babies is far more unlikely ever to come out.

Maybe they can just change the music? Seems unlikely but this is definatly a show that would be good for a DVD relese. And Muppet Babies were made way before Disney bought Muppets.

A couple of Episodes were released on DVD's that came with Muppet Babies plush toys (and I've heard one report that the clips were retained on those respective releases).
Ohterwise, I'd rather not interject to heavily on this, because we really don't know the full situation on the MB film clips use, the original agreement between Henson/Marvel and these film companies, setc.

Even then, here's one to ponder:
Would you buy more than 1 Muppet Babies DVD?
Sure, we loved it as a kid, but how well could we enjoy it today?

There's still a lot of old time Muppet fans today who'd enjoy it. {Sigh} I wish they'd release all the episodes on DVD :crying:

With Jim Henson's Muppet Babies, the issue isn't with the music (all of the musical numbers on the show were original songs), it's with the copyrighted video footage and movie and TV show clips that were used in the episodes. Those would be a lot trickier to replace.

I think that we'll see Jim Henson's Little Muppet Monsters on DVD long before we see Jim Henson's Muppet Babies. At least they don't have to worry about copyrighted materials because the short-lived companion show didn't use clips from well-known shows and movies.
Just live-action sequences with new Muppet characters and animated Muppet Show sketches like Pigs in Space. Ooh, animated Muppets! Plus, it hasn't been seen in over 20 years, and a lot of people have forgotten it even existed over the years, which is a real shame.

Like everyone said, the copyrighted clips would be a monster to pay royalties for. They used clips from Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters, and every other big film from the 80's, not to mention shows like Family Ties (Piggy had a crush on Micheal J. Fox).
I'd rather not have the series released at all than have the show edited and watered down to nothing. Considering that Disney's SKIPPING episodes on the Tick season set releases, that's probably what they'd do with Muppet Babies, so we'd probably most likely get 'best of' releases more than anything, if there's any episodes that DIDN'T have copyrighted clips, that is.

Considering only two out of the eighteen episodes aired, and they only aired once, it's not that surprising that no one remembers it.
But it would be great to see on DVD, since that'd be eight hours of Muppets material that has never been seen before, and an hour of material that has only been seen once.

It would be so, so wonderful if that happened. My tapes, which include episodes I taped when reruns aired on Nick Jr., are just about to die. But I know it will probably never happen. So I'm going to have to do something to preserve what I have.

Well, the Garbage Pail Kids cartoon got a full series release, and NONE of those episodes ever made it to air, so anything's possible.

I had forgotten about this show completely until read this post. I loved it as a kid. I'd buy at least one season.
