According to the CN schedule, Gundam 0083 is rated TVPG (OS and Tenchi still say Y7). Is this just a typo, or could they have actually removed some edits? Or are they just slapping a TVPG rating on there in order to try and avoid scaring away adults with their kiddie edits?

Since there were no edited dub, they simply just edited to PG, instead of Y7. Thusly, Gundam 0083 was dubbed for Adult Swim.

Gundam 0083, like Yu Yu Hakusho, wasn't specifically coming to Toonami. I know Maegan said that it would retain its Toonami edits, but not once did I ever hear that it would air on Toonami from anyone. It was assumed (much like everyone assumes DBGT will come to CN).

And Williams Street usually edits Gundam dubs and pays to have dialogue replaced.. so why they wouldn't with this one is puzzling. And if they DID, I don't see why they'd remove the edits they already paid for. Strange.

It also lists Yu Yu Hakusho as TV-Y7. Which is also completely messed up.

If you get that error, just hit Refresh until it works.

Maybe 0083 was a Midnight Run exclusive like 0080 was. In 0080 they eased up on the language.

I'll be happy as long as they don't edit it anymore than they have to, like in 0080. Just please don't let them obliterate another good anime.

No, a couple of swears just slipped by (same with Tenchi and OS). 0080's censorship was just as bad as the afternoon run. Hell, they even edited out Al's non-graphic Duck Hunt-style video game!

First of all, think before you type. That's a WARNING.

Second of all, TV-PG is NOT Toonami edits.

TV-PG will allow language and blood.

Geez, didn't you ever watch Gundam Wing Uncut?(also TV-PG)

I think the person has realized by now that he/she does not make ANY sense.

Maybe I don't completely understand the situation, but if a new show is coming to Adult Swim, why would it be edited down to a TV-PG rating, if there're already shows with TV-14 ratings? If a show has a TV-PG rating, NOTHING should edited from it. If there's something in it that's a bit too much for a TV-PG rating, then give it a TV-14 rating. Don't edit it away. Either that, or change the rating with each episode (Cowboy Bebop is sometimes TV-14V instead of just TV-14. Sealab 2021 jumps around from TV-PG to TV-14 every week).

Am I making any sense?

Until later.

Well, the weird thing about 0083 (at least from the 4 episodes I've seen) is that almost everything "objectionable" is stuff that would have to be cut fromeven AS. There isn't very much blood (if any), but they do say 's***' just about every other word, plus there are a few nudy pictures hanging in the soldier's rooms. So, by the time they edited stuff like that out, there wouldn't really be anything that would get more than TVPG.

AS shows should all at least be TV-PG IMO.

If you ever see TV-MA on AS, you are either dreaming, watching HBO, or hell has frozen over.

Yeah, that's my bad...I kinda left the freezer open...I forgot to shut it. Everyone's mad at me, it's a big mess. On the plus side...Freezer's defrosted =D

I dunno, I think a few years down the line, TV MA shows may pop-up on AS, and other cable nets...

Actually all of Texas (Except for El Paso & Hudspeth Counties) are in the Central TimeZone, not the Eastern. we get "Midnight" shows @ 11. That said, California & the rest of the Pacific Time Zone has a second feed of CN, calibrated to their Time Zone...

Mountain TimeZone People are up the creek.

Wait, do you have satellite? Because that would explain it. Mountain time gets the midnight run at 9:00 on satellite.

That's if you use DirecTV. I believe another satellite, possibly Dish Network, has a CN pacific feed.

Here's what Matt posted about the show information (which he, in turn, seems to have gotten from Gundam Project):

Plot summary of "Gundam 0083" from Gundam Project:

"The most epic of the non-Tomino Gundam stories, Gundam 0083 attempts to bridge the seven-year gap between the original series and the followup Zeta Gundam. As well as depicting the creation of the fascistic Titans, it combines huge naval battles, colony drops, massive nuclear attacks, monster mobile armors and top-quality animation into a fan-pleasing smorgasbord. The series was created by an all-star team of Sunrise regulars under the supervision of Takashi Imanishi.

On the last day of the apocalyptic One Year War, the bloody Battle of A Baoa Qu draws to a close. Learning that Zeon leader Gihren Zabi has been killed, Colonel Aiguille Delaz decides to withdraw his forces from the battlefield and fight again another day. With him goes Anavel Gato, the ace mobile suit pilot reknowned as the "Nightmare of Solomon."

More than three years pass, as the victorious Earth Federation rebuilds its shattered fleet and launches a secret Gundam Development Project to create advanced new mobile suits. Meanwhile, damaged space colonies are transferred to Side 3, the former Principality of Zeon, to ease its overpopulation. And at the asteroid base Axis out beyond the orbit of Mars, and at Delaz's hiding place within the Earth sphere, the remnants of Zeon begin planning their revenge against the Federation...
