MTV the clone. MTV2 is just another channel that shows everything that MTV does. It was originally started to show music videos 24/7. I wonder why they did keep to that idea. Please discuss ur thoughts about this. :zoidberg:

I stopped watching MTV2 when they cancelled Wonder Showzen, while still giving new episodes to the dung heap that is the Andy Milonakis Show.

you're a few years to late for this topic to be fresh. lol. mtv2 succeeds its predecessor in my opinion in that they actually show music videos

Yeah, in the early morning hours if we're lucky. Maybe, 10 - 20 % is given to music videos, the rest is their reality show crap, and I look for the reality shows to completley overtake MTV2 within the next few years.

Does VH1 Classic still show videos at least?

Yeah, the music videos are still a major part of VH1 Classic... for now. ALthough their 'We love the (insert decade here)' specials are spilling over onto the channel now.

No, THAT is a few years too late. MTV2 is just about the same as MTV now, with only a barely noticeably higher emphasis on music.

I never payed much attention to MTV2 early on, but the fact that it's becoming a clone of MTV1 dosen't surprise me. At least VH1 Classic still shows videos for the most part.

Ah, MTV. The root of all evil today. How proud I am to be part of the MTV Generation.

Much of their music-only stuff can now be seen on their digital-only channels:
MTV Jams (hip-hop and R&B)
MTV Hits (hit music)
MTV Tr3s (mostly Spanish-only videos)

Music videos on TV are dying out since music is going towards releasing everything on Itunes but at least you can still find videos on the internet.

I remember when MTV2 was only music videos and didn't have commercials.
Those were the days.
Now I have to go to the MTV and VH1 digital channels for music videos.
They need to relay MTV Japan over here.

What is special about MTV Japan?
It has Japanese music videos and shows we don't normally get to see.
I'd watch it more than MTV Tr3s.
