Wonder why only Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are on the cover? Look at the art below - it'll all make sense. :)

Oh man, seeing Batman in his JL look with the TNBA coloring scheme is making me feel nostalgic. Kinda makes me feel :( that it's not being used on the show.

Thanks Jim, now it looks great. I can't wait untill it hits the shelves.
Remember, people, if we don't go and spend our money on this first wave of DVDs, WB won't give us any more. Be sure to let the company know that we want episodes in order. And don't let up on writing letters, emails, and signing petitions. It's wonderful that the industry seems to have a much more democratic relationship with the consumers today thanks to the internet. Someday we will have it our way.

I've got to say--even if some of the DVD covers look pretty crappy, the disks themselves look great (except, of course, for The World's Finest)!

Overall the art looks pretty good, except they picked weird screengrabs to advertise on the back of the disc. I think they're empasizing the sci-fi/alien aspect of the show instea dof the superheroes. Then again, they got superheroes plastered all over the disc...so it should'nt really matter...:)

One question I have is that I noticed that on the back it states that the standard version is on the disc. I thought the widescreen version would also be on the disc. Only reason I noticed is that I have a habit of looking to make sure discs are in widescreen where applicable. I swear I've read everywhere that it would have both versions. Can anyone clarify this for me? It would be a shame if it wasn't but I'll still be buying it if it isn't. thanks in advance.

According to both the disc and the back cover art, it will be in standard format to keep the "original aspect as to which it was presented". It looks like WB is using CN's standards, not Timm's. I'll find out if an alternate widescreen version is being released, but I bet it'll only be the standard.

Sigh. Guess I'll have to put duct tape over the top and bottom of the screen. :(

Thanks for the info. At least they are releasing 4 other great DVDs that day so it isn't all bad. At least BTAS is being released in order.

I gotta start just leaving the black tape up on the screen. ;)

Yeah - I'm dissapointed in the "standard" presentation as well. It'd be nice if they used both, perhaps. Maybe if they every release season sets of JL, then we'll get the deserved widescreen.

The cover and DVD art definately look great :D. A whole lot better that "World's Finest." My only problem is that movie is being presented in standard format . I much prefered widescreen. Overall it looks like a pretty good purchase :).

I really hope that future JL DVDs aren't widescreen only. I think they should have a wide/full option to satisfy both sides.

The fact that it's just the standard version doesn't bother me as much as the Unedited ROTJ not coming with the edited version too. Oh well, maybe I'm asking for too much.

I'm sure we'll get JL widescreen sometime in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a later widescreen release of the series, or episode. WB just has to test the water first, like they do with almost every release.

Anyone know if they plan on releasing all of season one when it is over? Cuz I have missed like every episode. I've seen the pilot. The one with GL on trial part one. and the enemy below part 1. and part 1 of Wonder Woman's island being destroyed.

I can live with the full screen. Somehow...
And they'll probably release more JL DVDs if this one sells well. Remember one thing: Money is the only language spoken by Warner Bros.

Whether or not WB plans to release more DVD depends on the sale of the first JL DVD. If sales are low, then WB will assume there's no audience and cut the plug.
