Why do superheroes wear the same clothes day in and day out. For example: Terry always wears the same t-shirt, pants, and jacket almost on every show. Bruce and Clark mostly wear suits, like on every show. Why do animators paint the same clothes all the time, are they afraid of using to much paint? I think it would be fun to see Superheroes wearing something else for a change. Do they wash their clothes like normal people do? They also look the same, especially Terry and Matt, style wise.

It's not just superheros...
it's just easier for them to use the same clothes...I'm not sure why. Lots of cartoons have this problem...just watch some Carcaptor Sakura, and everything will be ok...

In all cartoons, the characters wear the same thing, or maybe they switch among two or three main outfits. It's because of money and time, and it would just be too hard to find something new for a characters, not to mention a lot of characters, to wear each episode. And, it helps seperate characters from each other. If you glance around school, you may notice that kids tend to wear the same thing. Like one of my friends is always wearing Gap or Old Navy, and another is wearng jeans and a Spiderman shirt, and yet another just jeans and some t-shirt. I've found that I wear jeans a lot, and either a black, a white, a blue, or a red shirt, most of the time. So, it's actually not that weird.

Actually I always took notice that during TNBSA at least Bruce and Clark wore different color suits every now an again. I mean in BTAS Bruce always wore that god awful brown suit/yellow shirt thing.

And Terry's wardrobe won't bother you after you watch a few episodes of the Fox Spiderman cartoon. Peter always wore a funky polo shirt with big stripes in the middle and Mary Jane wore a puffy yellow sweater and cowboy boots.

I probably should not bring up Marvel comics... but the Wasp changed her clothes quite frequently.

Well...it's easier in comics to change a person's civilian clothes...cause it all has to be drawn fresh...

Cartoons reuse footage...

Didn't "The Simpsons" make a joke about this? When Marge is in prison, Lisa says something about the lack the laundry: "I feel like I've been wearing this dress forever!"

Fortunately, they changed his outfit in the second season. Of course, MJ stayed the same.

Yes...so did Daria and Jane during a clip-show/countdown thing on MTV. It is a time-saving measure, as is reusing backgrounds (a time-honored tradition going back to Hanna and Barbera). It's ironic that Quinn and the Fashion Clubbers, being clothes horses, seldom wore anything but their stock outfits (although Quinn's shirt changed in season four, and there was the ep with Staci and Tiffany both wearing the same polka-dot dress....)

I always figured Clark owned just blue suits, red neckties, and white shirts for work--a closetful of identical outfits, like Fox Mulder. He's a bland fellow who likes to save time. Lois, on the other hand, favored both violet and red suit/skirt combos (a new color every season, I think).

I've always seen it as a way for the viewer (possibly aimed at the younger ones, most likely) to recognize the character easier, to familiarize themselves with him/her physically. My dumb Aunt couldn't tell Bruce and Dick appart when she watched Subzero for the first time.

And I liked the corny clothes SpidermanTAS had Peter wear, so nya. :p lol

Well, it would take a lot of work and money to design new outfits for each ep in a series. I kinda liked how Lois and Clark wore different colors of the same outfits sometimes. That was a nice touch that didn't require hardly any extra work. But i never really had a problem w/ characters always wearing the same things.

In MOTP, Bruce wears a few different outfits. But Timm and Co. probably spent a little extra time for the movie.

I have noticed that characters on XMen Evolution sometimes wear completely different outfits.
