Say It Isn't Sew
Bloo goes with Madame Foster thinking that it's a trip with the rest of the crew to the annual county fair. However, it goes awry when Madame Foster makes a stop at a fabric store.

This ranks right up with: "Foster's home for imaginary um.. Make em' up Pals!" Downright crap.

Bloo almost won too.

Wait, wait..scratch that. Nothin' can be as bad as the episode above!

You know there are probably episodes that you are writing down that you just know aren't going to be top, end all hilarious side splitting episodese. I mean the idea may be solid and the characeerization may be okay (sort of) and there is enough room for a full 22 minute plot with some interesting visuals but it probably dosen't come across as something you may have enjoyed as some other episodes. I mean this is the first of Foster's new summer seasons of ep but not nearly as strong as the last one or even "Cheese A Go Go". I mean really they did get all the mileage they could out of a sewing store (liked Bloo playing with all the toys and balls of yarns and even using them for his escape at the end) but nothing too great happened there. I also really didn't like Mrs. Foster being so hostile with keeping Bloo there. I mean Bloo did kind of deserve it not wanting to wait for the bus and rough housing in the car but not really that much. Not to mention they could of had a lot more focus on the other friends in the amusement park which had more sources of well... amusement then a sewing store. The best part was probably the ending with Bloo finally escaping and ending up on the roller coaster he wanted and getting sick (which he did want at the beginning) and the "wamp wamp". Yeah I usually hate that "wamp wamp" joke but at least they acknowledged it as a lame ending joke earlier in the episode which I've never seen anyone else do. Well my friend but not TV Show Wise.

Seeing Bloo try to get across the street and into the fair was hillarious. I also enjoyed seeing Madam Foster's devilish side, especially where she was Voodoo dolling Bloo. Bloo vomiting first was highly predictable in the end though, and it made the ending a bit of a downer.

Hey, that gag with the ring stacking toy was hilarious, right? Oh, no, wait, we didn't see it BECAUSE IT WAS BLOCKED BY A HUGE AD.

I don't know, I liked it. Bloo got his due for a change, making it all the more fun.

Another great episode of Foster's that really showed how great this show is when it's firing on all cylinders. This episodes premise was refered to at Comic Con last summer and I'd been looking forward to it. I'm happy to say I was totally happy with this episode.

Good.
+The Bloo haters had their episode her. Bloo being tortured lead to some really funny moments here. I especially thought it was interesting that he believed Mac was taunting him outside. The fact that they repeated the scene twice gave the whole thing a kind of psycadelic feel (honestly I thought that someone had made a mistake and played the footage twice.)

+We got to see the quirky side of Madam Foster again. I can totally understand her glee though. I totally do the same thing whenever I head to Michael's or Aaron Brothers or any art store. Wonderfully fun stuff.

+Funny (if overt) PPG refrence.

Bad.
-Lost some steam in act 2 but nothing that it didn't overcome later.

Notes.
*Interestingly enough I found out this last Saturday was national knit in public day. I wonder if that had to do with the reasoning behind airing it last Friday.

*I know Lauren Faust is an avid knitter. Was she the writer of this episode?

I think this episode deserves an A. Very solid effort.

No, this one was written by Darrick Bachman. Lauren Faust wrote next week's.

I like having a 'Bloo gets his comeuppance' episode every once in awhile. It's fun to see him do the actual suffering for once. Still, other than that it was a pretty average episode which got better at the end with Bloo trying to cross the street and get into the fair alone. Then the abrupt ending...

C'mon, Bloo got exactly what he wanted! He got to ride the Vomit Comet first and he puked first as well! Bloo gets what he wants, and yet I couldn't be more dissatisfied with the ending. This was one of those situations where Bloo should've lost so he could win, if you get my drift.

"Say it isn't Sew": 3/5.
