Wonder Woman's ability to fly

Could anyone explain to me how Wonder Woman got her ability to fly? I know She got it in the mid 80's after that "Crisis On Infinite Earth's" storyline. (They also ditched the Invisible jet, and made Superman less god like.) Just wanted to know.

If you're asking why Wonder Woman was given the power of flight ... I assume because George Perez felt that the Invisible Jet was too hokey, and wanted to make WW more like Superman?

As for how she gained the power of flight, it was part of her birthright. When the Olympian gods (Athene, Aphrodite, Artemis, Demeter, Hestia and Hermes) created Diana, each granted her a special gift/power. Hermes granted Diana the power of flight and speed.
