This was the most fantastic comedy I've ever seen before in my entire life.
Bravo, Mr. Apatow.

This was an amazing comedy and needs to be seen by anyone who wants to have an understanding of what good comedy should be. Not one joke is forced, or mean spirited, rather everything comes froms the characters.

It's also how brutal in how real it feels. Apatow has always done a good job at presenting reality, but this film hits home for anyone who's ever been in love, or even liked a girl.

I'll use the common descriptions, like "amazingly funny" and "brutally honest".

Saw this last night, and was very surprised. Could have used a little shortening up in the editing room, but there was a lot of hilarious stuff in it, and a surprisingly dark undertone. Characters were actually developed and well-defined. Very good, especially during the summer of endless, special effects-ridden sequels.

Very well done movie.

About on par with "40 Year Old Virgin", but I still thought "Hot Fuzz" was a bit funnier.

Finally saw this. Good movie. The laughs were a lot less in the second half of the film, but in a way that's perfectly acceptable because as Ben decides to get more serious about commitment to the baby, so the movie expects us to realize that this can't easily be laughed off. And did anyone else feel a little uncomfortable watching the movie? I mean that in a good way- the movie got you to care about the characters, so that when things were going badly, it was hard to watch them struggle.

Favorite scenes:
-After the earthquake, when Alison realizes that Ben hasn't read any of the parenting books. I was thinkin', "Uh oh..."
-The gatekeeper at the club getting cussed up and down by Debbie, and then he takes her aside and confides in her. Great scene. :D
-In the hospital at the end when Ben showed some courage and confronted both Dr. Kuni and Debbie. You can definitely tell Ben matured since the beginning of the movie, and you could feel the tension when Dr. Kuni was irritable at the start. I felt bad for Alison, that she might not have the pregnancy she wanted.
-Pretty much anything with Alison's boss and that lady who works for him. You never really knew what the guy was going to say because he had that really hesitant way of speaking, and then the lady says something you don't expect. "I hate pregnant..." "I don't like secrets..." The three's discussion about losing weight was especially hilarious and well-timed.
-All the long beard jokes with one of Ben's friends. All greatness.
-Ben's description of how long he's lived on not a lot of money. "I don't pay taxes, which kind of helps. And I live here illegally... don't tell anyone!"

There were more jokes, little ones here and there, that came from the characters, not questionable random humor, but it would take too long to list. Anyway, glad I finally went to see it.
