Or do you think they should change, as the characters develop and things happen, more like the comic book?
Personally, even though I haven't actually seen the series, I have read about most of the episodes and I buy JLAdv, but I think, if this show is going to be more than two series long, it is inevitable to have some changes to the team. I think it kind of makes it more of a real life thing than the normal cartoon which never changes anything. Just like B:TAS, which changed as time went on.
Who would you like to see changed if it was going to happen? Who should be added etc? And why? Of course, I don't mean for this thread to be a "get rid of such and such because they're the worst", more like who could you see leaving, and who would you like to replace them?

Well, I realize that I'll be flogged, but I could really see Batman leaving...he's not a team player...I'd like to see Steel, or Plastic Man join the team..I could also see them switching out GLs as a sort of Earth Rotation sorta thing....

Howdy,
I really like the lineup as it stands. I think if they introduce new heroes on the show, it should be done as they are doing it now, where not all 7 Leaguers are in every episode, and there's the occasional guest star(s) (Aquaman, the GL Corps, eventually Rex and the Demon). Of the current lineup, though, Batman is the only one I can see actually leaving (though there's some debate on whether he's an actual member anyway...)
I'd like to see Steel or the Atom on the show, to balance out the brawn-heavy nature of the League as it stands. Green Arrow, Black Canary, or the Huntress would be interesting to provide another non-super-powered hero other than Batman. I'd also like to see Batgirl and Supergirl because the League needs more women and, well, they're cute =8^).
And MAGIC. Get Dr. Fate, Zatanna, Dr. Occult, John Constantine, the Swamp Thing, and the Phantom Stranger on there! Get 'em all on at once!

I would prefer the line-up to remain consistent. I don't like it when superhero teams have a constantly revolving roster -- this was my only complaint about Kurt Busiek's run on The Avengers. Occasional guest appearances would be great, but for the sake of consistency, the team should remain locked.

If these characters are ever going to develop, costant roster changes will be lethal to the show.

I agree. Giving the writers these 7 heroes to develop is hard enough let alone saying let's add these guys to the team and get rid of these. If that happened we'd never really know the team. As it is we have to wait for spotlight shows to get to know these 7, so adding more would just bring the show down in my opinion.

I agree with the fact that seven is enough. But, if this show really lasts (5+ years), the animators could introduce alternative members, including GL, Black Canary, etc. There were different members taking shifts 24-7 from what I understand in the comics.
Seven is enough for now. Let's develop them, then worry about expansion. Let's not end up like the NHL or MLB and have to kill off two or three members. Besides, if we have too many heros, the flaws that are there will be even bigger (Superman will get weaker, et al).

I like the current Lineup. I hate when teams have a revolving roster. It kills the chemistry.

Leave the current seven, but have an "eight chair" open for mission specialists, such as The Atom. Since you rarely have all seven members in each episode, I doubt having three main members and one guest relevant to the episode would create problems for the writers.
Boy, I'm really making the rounds tonight!

Someone leaving, getting killed, or just plain disappearing for like a season would be too damn cool and mature wise in animation. It would move like a real show, how cast members leave and sometimes return. I'm hard-pressed to imagine who would leave, but and when...
the Red Tornado would be a good choice of character and he could be involved somehow with the disappearance. Say, Supes or the Flash (who conflicts with Tornado cause of his costume) is secretly taken by Starro.
or Plastic Man, but Flash conflicts with him again because of comic relief.
or the atom, who would just be a little too hard to draw at times. I feel the artists pain.
But the logical choice would be someone that belongs more to JSA. Dr. Fate. And they could have more villians and a mystical gain. But most likely he'll guest-star in a season 2 episode like the Demon is, and be on his way.

Yeah, while I definately think that a set team should be in place, I think it's inevitable, if they are going to make this a more human type show, that one of those things would happen, so I agree, GL2k2. They work well as a team, but to be honest, they don't always get along that well and it would be realistic that one of them would have had enough at one stage - maybe just become a recurring character. Or, the disappearance thing.
I wouldn't like to see regular roster changes at all. If it were to rotate I think it would get very silly. But, if this show is going to be over two seasons, I would like to see something happen to the lineup to generate a stir of excitement and keep viewers on the edge of their seats. This is where a dissappearance of one of the members would work...it would give a great element of mystery in the meantime.
It's kind of like on Angel, when Doyle left (although that was way to soon), but it made you realise a few things...that all bets are off, anything can happen, and the show isn't just going to stick to the same thing all the time. Granted, this was because the actor wanted to leave, but it still gave a great effect to the show in it's first season.

I could easily see a third season line-up change. If Hawkgirl were to "die" or get transported back to Thanagar that would leave a stop open for Aquaman, who admitibly would be harder to fully incorporate into the series, but still would be nice to see. I definately see John Steward eventually bowing out and Kyle stepping in. Fans expecta an answer as to how Kyle simply disappeared after S:TAS and they could still easily give him one.
As for guest stars, I could see Zatanna and Dr. Fate in a magical episode.

JL has the character chemistry down, so I hope they don't change the line-up.
