Well I was browsing through the MSNBC news today and I stumbled onto this one in the Crime and Punishment section and this is very similar to the Texas Babysitter incident (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=191062).

In this case a Man went on a 2 state shooting sprre killing 2 People and injuring another 4 before he was caught. and what was his defense in this case?

He did these things because he was fearful and thought that aliens were planning to abduct his 5 year old daughter.

Now I went on to read the rest of this story and apparently this person was in fact a person who suffered from psychotic episodes, and in this case from the rather graphic portrayal, This is one of those cases that falls along the same Line as the Texas Babysitter case. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=191062) Let's take a look at the similiarities here:

In the Texas Case, The babysitter was deemed by some to be a 'sociopath' while in this one the man who did the shooting might have been having 'psychotic delusions'.

So then this brings up a question. Should these People be Killed (The Man in this story is being accused of Murder in Delaware, where the Possible maximum scentence is death by lethal injection). or should these folks be put into prison indefinitely and be allowed to mull what they did. (But I will argue one point: The man in this story might not have been thinking rationally when he committed his crimes but then if he's put into the prison system, how is he going to be treated here?)

So then this just will add more fuel to the flames here when it comes to treating these people as criminals.. Should these folks be allowed to die? Or will they be allowed to sit in jail indefinitely until they die of old age? Also what about and where was medical treatment for this person, or rather these people? (Where were the supposed people who could have monitored these persons and kept them from committing these crimes?)

Okay I'm done in this case. feel free to discuss.

At least he could make up a better excuse like the internet made him do it.

Too many fantasy schedules, "Why Bleach belongs on Toonami" topics, e-drama (cause the internet is serious business. Derp!) and other dreck snapped his pathetic little mind, and he just couldn't be helped with what he did beyond that point.

The Aliens made him do it... I know who the aliens were

It was the Romulans, they used mind-probes on him and then reconfigured his neural pathways to cause him to believe his daughter was gonna get kidnapped. It was someone from the Tal'Shiar...
