To be clear, I'm not talking about a TV movie; I'm talking the silver screen. Do you Whovians (and none Whovians) think that David Tennant's Doctor could do well on the big screen? What would you want in a Doctor Who movie? A regeneration? A Tennant/Eccleston crossover? Rose and Martha? Captain Jack? Torchwood, even?
Personally, since it would have to be something suitably epic, I think a return to Gallifrey (Time War, maybe?) would be a neat story. Judging by the Doctor's description of the planet in 'Gridlock', I'm sure the budget of a big screen adventure could make the planet of the Time Lords look truly breathtaking.

I'd like to see it get a wide release in America.
Hahahaha but we all know that's not going to happen if they actually make a movie.

Apparently Davies is against the idea and I tend to agree. UK shows to movies generally don't work very well. Add in the staff have enough to do making 13 episodes a year (one of which has to barely feature the main cast because of the tight deadlines) and I think this could be overkill. I also can't help but think they'd copy the older movies and just reinvent him for cinema audiences.

Well considering the last time it was done (the 60's Aaru Dalek flicks) the results were... less than stellar. I would say no.

I don't understand why 13 (14?) episodes per year would cause such a tight schedule. SG-1, another effects-heavy sci-fi series, can do 20 per year. Do the cast and crew have other commitments, or do the British like to take extended vacations?

Nine times out of ten the series is less than stella, but that doesn't mean it should be stopped, surely?
I think a big screen outing woud be great, but I think it'd need a whole new Doctor, be non-continuity and have Daleks in it. Pretty much like the Cushing movies, really...
And who would I like to see as the big screen Doctor? Now, that's a much harder question...

As long as it doesn't screw around with the show's cannon (ala the Kamen Rider Movies) Then I'd be all for it.
I meen some scinarios would be fun to explore on that basis.

One big factor- SG-1 has alot of consistent locations and most alien planets are just woodland. In comparisson, Who's only real constant is the TARDIS and every week the location is basically somewhere completly new. Sets are redressed but still that would add alot of time to filming.
