View Full Version : Thoughts on Fury and The Injustice Gang...

A recent comment on Fury from Bruce Timm:
"All anyone needs to know is that in Injustice, Lex recruits a group of super-villains to help him take down the Justice League...At the beginning of Fury we find them taking orders from a new boss…that’s about it!"
Now, according to nothing (a reliable source, ), Fury will feature Copperhead, Star Sapphire, Solomon Grundy, and the Shade; but apparently not Lex Luthor, Joker, Cheetah, and the Ultra-Humanite.
So, did Luthor create the Injustice Gang team himself or did he just hire an existing team and bring on some additional help? Plus, who is this mystery boss that half the team is working for in Fury?

that Luthor created the Gang himself. I don't know how the characters will be presented, but I assume that they will be a bunch of conflicting personalities coming together for the common goal of taking the JL down.
***Possible Spoiler***
I believe that Fury is a Wonder Woman/Hawkgirl episode, so I assume they are the only characters. If so they wouldn't want to use Luthor or Joker without their caped counterparts.
***End Spoiler***
My pick for the mystery boss, who wouldn't get shown or named, is Darkseid.

I'm thinking you may be right, Web-Head about the new mysterious boss who takes over for Lex. It would only make sense, too. No one shares the kind of stature that Lex does aside from the rules or Apokolips himself! I wonder if this is how it'll play out...

It could be Darkseid, but Timm has said plainly that Darkseid won't appear in Season One. That leads me to think that it might be someone else.

So is "Fury" for a fact going to air before "Injustice for All"? Does anyone know for sure? Is CN simply doing this for ratings purposes? I think so, though they blew their chance to air it during February sweeps month.

*Possible Spoiler*
Darkseid is really the only one that makes any kind of sense for the main boss. It's kinda like what they've done in many comic books and stories of epic. Even Star Wars. Yes, we see the villian as Darth Vader and his cronies like Boba Fett, but there is someone higher in the food chain that is incognito running the machine from behind the curtain, and he probably won't be revealed like he was in STAS.
He won't come out and say "But you may call me... Darkseid. We may not even see a Boom Tube in this season. Which would make it all the more mysterious. Darkseid, much like Doctor Doom is a master manipulator who lets things pan out for the betterment of himself. And to use Luthor is on par with what King is doing to Randall Flagg in the Dark Tower series (Apologies for anyone who doesn't read Stephen King), meaning the Luthor may be a bad ass villian, but he's nothing compared to someone damn near inherently evil.
If they do this, I will personally apologize to Bruce and co. for my disappointed and disgruntled nitpicking of the series.

That is LAME beyond words of CN to show those 2 out of order. Even if it doesnt affect continuum THAT much, the mere fact that it does even a little bit should dictate which one goes first?
What do they have to gain by showing them out of order? :(

Howdy,
Well, one alternative super big boss would be Hades. That would also tie in to the Wonder Woman aspect of Fury.
Other possibilities? Prometheus or the Key from the JLA comic are the only ones with the kind of oomph capable of taking on the League, other than Hades and Darkseid.

You guys are forgetting another big time villain. This mysterious boss could also be Vandal Savage.

Well, given the number of DC villains with the potential to bankroll a team of bad guys the possibilities could be endless. I just hope that it isn't Libra.
You don't suppose that it's Libra, do you? He was the guy who organized the Silver Age version of the Injustice Gang.
Anyway, next on the agenda: in nothing's episode preview he mentioned the appearance of "a samurai/ninja girl" who will apparently be among the villains. I have no idea who that could be (Cheshire, possibly?), but will she be a member of the Gang as well? If so, it would appear that the Injustice Gang is either very large or just has a lot of members that go in and out of it on a regular basis.

I completely agree! does any one know for sure why cn is showing them out of order? why?? whyd the just pull it back all of a sudden, and why didnt they just air it as the first new arc, whyd they have to go out of order??
but im really surprised that the injustice gang is in more than one story. are they the key villians in fury? it sucks we have to hear about it now, it would have been a nice surprise, especially if the first injustice gang one aire first!
it just all seems so wrong, they should totally air them in order, thats the way theyre intended to be seen. but its interesting to note that they dont have an official name. thats kind of cooler, cause i cant see luthor declaring that theyre the injustice gang. im really wish theyd show it in order...just think, we would have already seen part 1 by now if theyd actually aired it. oh well, peace.

It's stinks that we could have seen Injustice Pt 1 by now but we haven't. My only guesses as to why it hasn't aired is that either more touch up work needed to be done to make it a truly classic episode, or CN wanted to save it for May sweeps to try to get massive ratings.
I definielt agree with GL, it would be better to not see, hear, or know who the boss is this season. Have it be a cool little mystery that we fanboys (and fangirls) can pick over all summer long.
My pick is still Darkseid. Hey, he used hired help in STAS (Intergang).

It could be a villian that has yet to be mentioned. Just as Deadshot was a surprise. But, perhaps its the Joker. I know, I know, I don't even think so. My money's still on Darkseid.

The possibilities are endless. My money is on either Amos Fortune or Queen Bee II (the one from Bialya). Oy, she would rock! :)
