Does anybody know what happened to The Little Lulu Show that used to air on HBO? I kind of liked it, and am wondering why it was yanked off the air.

That was one of MY favorite shows in the Late 90's, and went to great pains to record almost every episode. Guess I have a soft spot for Lulu

I did a quick Google search and it looks like the show ended back in 1999.

I loved this show. I never got HBO, but luckily I got to see it on numerous channels overseas.

Why can't they just add this to the ON demand section of HBO. The only that seems to stay on demand under kids for HBO is that musical show and crashbox.

Cinar released 30 shorts on DVD and about 9 shorts on VHS. I wish that they'd release the other 117 shorts on DVD. It was a great show. I'm glad that they released what they did, but it would be nice to see a Little Lulu Complete Series DVD.

I remember Cinar's Little Lulu Show on HBO and HBO Family. Little Lulu's friend Tubby sounds like Binky Barnes from Marc Brown's Arthur (Both are voiced by Canadian voice actor Bruce Dinsmore, who also voices Arthur's father on the Arthur cartoon series also produced by Cinar/Cookie Jar)!

Oh my God! I used to always watch this (and 30 x 30 Kid Flicks) on HBO! I miss Lulu, it'd be great to see it again.

Speaking of Crashbox, are they still making new episodes? It's been on the air for ages, but I haven't seen any new stuff in a long time.
While we're at it, what's the status of "Hapilly Ever After"?

The show ended in 2005 after running 10 years. I asked Classic Media, the company that now owns the character, and they told me those two DVD's didn't sell enough, so they won't issue any more new ones. But I still see those two in stores, so I guess they're available.

The reason those cartoons were so good is that they were comic book stories from the 1940's and 50's. (In fact, Lulu's creator was a woman cartoonist.) Details at

10 years? Only HBO Family aired the 1995-1998 Little Lulu episodes produced by Cinar.

British actress Tracey Ullman was the first season voice of Little Lulu in 1995, for the remainder of the series Lulu was voiced by Canadian voice actress Jane Woods.

You just LOVE mentioning "Arthur" every possible chance you get. Don't ya?

I saw some episodes of this series who was broadcasted on Montreal CTV affiliate CFCF-12 and in French on Radio-Canada, it's very nice but I have more deeper memories of this 1970s version, here the opening credits

Classic Media has yet to approve a DVD set of the Japanese anime Little Lulu!

Well, since you're on the subjec of Arthur and Little Lulu, Annie and D.W (for some of Arthur) had the same voice actor (Michael Caloz).

The voice of Annie on Little Lulu (Cinar/Cookie Jar) was later done by Canadian actress Vannessa Legines.

Actually, since 2005 the only new entry in the HBO Family "Jam" block of kid shows is British import "Postman Pat".

I believe they have stopped all half hour type shows on HBOfamily and are showing just movies now. I watched Little Lulu whenever we had HBO for free previews and I liked it. I would have liked to see more and also the Japanese version and the old series which was showed years ago.
