My personal favorite is "Batman", but I like Detective and GK as well. I've never cared for Legends though.

Catwoman is now an awesome title again. The artwork is amazing and the writing is just superb. This is Catwoman as she should be, not some big breasted jewel theif, but a reluctant hero. And Holly...who isn't glad to see Holly back??

I agree Catwoman is great, and Batman's three titles are great as well. Batgirl is pretty good also :)

I was pleasently surprised with this week's Batgirl. Without revealing any spoilers, Puckett offered us a fight to the death...and we got it!

oh, I thought he was talking about just those 4 Bayman Titles(I've been sick, so I'm a little slow) Catwoman is by far my favorite out of all of them!!! I liked the first CW series, but this new one is even better!! And I agree, who isn't glad to see Holly back?? My second favorite is Harley Quinn. THis comic gets better every month!

I assumed he meant all of them, and the four he listed were his favorites. But if I had to choose with those four, I'd go with Detective Comics in a heart beat.

My favorite would probably be 'Tec or Batman, and then the other in second. Then Catwoman, the GK, and the other ones after that. I don't know if this list will remain as is, because Robin, Nightwing, and BOP are all getting new writers relatively soon. And Batgirl has remained pretty good throughout its run. I'm pretty much enjoying all the Bat-titles nowadays, except for, of course, Azrael, as I haven't read it since the Joker issue during NML, and I almost burnt that book. Wow, is that one of the most useless series ever.

I just like the Animated Series comic, "Gotham Adventues"; don't care much at all for how Batman's portrayed in his own "real" comics in recent years---he reminds me more of a sulking, antisocial 15-year-old these days more than an actual adult (vs. the way he was shown in the 70's/80's-era Bat-comics, which I do like....). And I won't even go into why I find the "urban legend" nonsense as utterly, well, nonsensical (to put it mildly)....

AMEN!! I bought the Azrael issue in the recent joker crossover and it STUNK. I NEVER would have gotten it if it hadn't been in the crossover (which wasn't all that great, anyway). Man, I didn't even mean to buy it, they just stuck it in with my other comics because it was part of the crossover and I didn't notice(yeah, my own fault). I was so mad...

I've always enjoyed LOTDK. I don't read it regularly, but when there's a creative team on the book that I enjoy, or an interesting premise for the storyline, I'll pick it up.

So Brainatra, you think Batman should be seen in his own universe as an obvious Superhero, that the public openly knows about, like Superman? Just curious.
not some big breasted jewel theif, but a reluctant hero.
Hey whats wrong with big...jewel theives. :D
I have'nt read any yet, but was'nt a jewel theif her original M.O.?
I mean she is Catwoman, the Catburgalar. In these books what is her purpose if she's not trying to rob people. She was always a reluctant hero, but it was stealing that got her in heroic situations.
Personally the new costume throws me off, but hopefully the writings good.
Detective comics, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman, aaaaand I'll hold onto little Robin, until he get's better this year. I totaly hate his school atmosphere, I mean that cast totally SUCKS. And even though he's a teen does'nt mean they have to keep FORCING teen issues on us like Drugs, and Alcohal, ugh Im sick of it. Bring the action, bring the stuff I read comic books for. Luckily he's leaving that school.

AZRAEL should just be cancelled. Why it's still trucking along is beyond me. Although I hear the series is on it's last legs and if sales do not improve, the axe will fall. About damn time, too. The series started off as great and well done. Both the story and art rocked. But then after the initial arc, it all went down hill...

I'm not a huge comics fan, but they're growing on me...who knows, maybe I'll evn subscribe to a title or two (although, right now, it'll probably be a self contained title like Amazing Spiderman or Ultimate Spiderman.....I hate crossovers. (not true, I hate plot crossovers)
When I do read the comics (in the bookstore..I'm so bad) I've found I really like the Batgirl series, and that alot of the Batman titles have really odd art, so that turns me off...
However I am...vainly...training to follow the BW:M series...I've read the 1st two parts.....in reverse order. D'oh!
wait, I've read pt 3...that was the Nightwing one, right?

Batman, 'Tec, and GK all kick major booty, but 'Tec's gotta be my fave. I love mysteries, can't wait for Lieber's art. It's gonna rule, especially with the Continuum's four-page preview.
Brubaker's really hitting the mark with BATMAN, though. He really plays up to the "Urban Legend Batman," which I don't really like overall but it's cool to have on one book.
And GK....what can ya say? It's psycological, it's deep, it's intense. It's a really great comic.
As for the others...ROBIN is sinking, but a new writer's coming. NIGHTWING continues to be awesome, despite the art. BIRDS OF PREY is cool when it tries. BATGIRL's just awesome, wish I had the money to buy it more often. CATWOMAN's just plain cool. Not better than 'Tec, but very cool.

Well, in my opinion, yes.... not Superman-type opennes of doing charity drives, etc., but defintely not wasting time trying to make the populace think that he doesn't exist. Besides, examples of how Batman *can't* be an "urban legend" aside (JLA appearances, Dick as a Teen Titan, various super-criminals like the Joker and the Penguin being brought in time and time again, Batman founding the Outsiders [if that's still canonical], etc.), why would criminals fear something that's on the same level as Bigfoot? Guess I don't understand what's supposed to be gained both for Batman and entertainment-wise in insisting on the "urban legend" stuff (if it's supposed to "make him more menacing", he was fairly menacing in the criminal populace's minds in the 70's/80's-era Bat-books without being, well, more introverted than *I* am ;-)
If it's "he's a mysterious figure", well he already can have that without being though of as an "urban legend": see that B:TAS episode with the kids debating what Batman's really like (light-hearted, ruthless, etc.), which was apparently based loosely on a 70's-era Batman story along the same theme. Batman clearly exists---it's his actual nature that's a bit of a mystery (particularly among superstitious, cowardly crooks ;-)

I can see the point there. And it's so true. Batman's run into about every thug in Gotham (well, not every one, 'cause the scene always opens with "What if Batman finds us?" and then the other guy saying "There ain't no freakin' Bat!"), and a number of civilians. Especially those who stayed during NML, in which Batman appeared in broad daylight. So while it's a good short-term idea, it doesn't work long-term.

I see Batman as more of a mysterious figure. He can strike at any time and the crook can never be too sure. I can't really see him as a "urban legend" anymore, but as a mysterious figure. He moves quickly and it barely seen. He's swift and almost deadly. People rarely lay their eyes on him. They know he's there...but they don't know where he is.
