Well could it? Seriously? Besides the original Batman animated series, no other animated Batman incarnation could captivate me like Beyond did.
Maybe it was cause it was gritty, and dark like the the original animated series (OAS). I myself would love to see a Beyond movie, but I kinda doubt it could work out that well. obviously made after Nolan's Batman films are done.
Anyone think it could work?

A Trilogy to me is the best for it.
The first film featuring Blight and Spellbinder, and of course the seconding coming of Batman, aka Terry.
The Second film could feature KOBRA or the splicers or other villians from the series.
The Third and final film would be a Live-Action version of Return of the Joker. Some plot points might change but yeah.

nah. i'd keep some symbolances of kobra in the first two movies, but the third movie will feature batman's struggle against the organization. the first one should be about how terry got his powers and how the murder or terry's father which eventually culminates in the making of blight

movie two can feature terry and bruce taking down blight... should have more in this one, but can't piece it together very well...

actually, no kobra. third movie should be about the return of joker. second movie should build up to it along with a big fight with blight, along with terry and bruce solving the murder of terry's father

Well to me, The first film would have both Blight and Spellbinder, if anything with your idea of building up blight for part two. But Spellbinder, would work nice, near the middle of film, with Ira Billings being a counselor at Hamilton High. Terry going to see him, being conflicted with his emotions about his father's death and being the new Batman (obviously not telling him of his new persona)

I guess everyone seems to be in agreement for Blight to appear in a 'part 2.' I would have the first one be based on "Rebirth" and maybe throw in either Inque or Shriek for good measure, or atleast as hired goons. And 'part 3' would probably be based upon 'Return of the Joker' (and possibly 'Epilogue' if it works). That's all I can throw out off the top of my head.

As for the films themselves, I don't think that they would be made anytime soon (or at all), but they wouldn't be impossible to pull of. The main issue would of course be the cast and crew to make it possible.

I have the utmost doubt that such a film would get made and made well, but I would implore the creative forces behind such a production to strongly consider casting Kevin Conroy as old Bruce. Some age makeup and grey hair coloring, it'd be gangbusters.

Well to me the hardest thing to do would be the new Batsuit. I see the mask being in the same vain of the Spider-Man movie mask, just all Hightech.

They could do it with all the computer technology that's now available, but I think it would ultimately take away from the actual animated series beauty itself.

no, the general public would not pay cash money to see a film about a Batman that isn't Bruce Wayne. a live-action weekly maybe.

Well, obviously it couldn't "work" if by "work" you mean "make enough money to satisfy the suits." (-: But in a theoretical alternate universe in which it could ever be greenlit, it could be a kickass movie. Hey, if they kept it in continuity with the Nolan films, it could be about the return of R'as Al'Ghul, complete with Lazarus pits and old-Bruce-turns-young-Bruce, just like the episode of the show. That'd be awesome. (-:

that's what is boils down to: the risk-reward factor.
it's all about the money.

a Batman Beyond feature already sounds as if it'd be more expensive than a traditional Batman film.

I'd love to see them try it but I already know it'd never get off the ground.

I can definitely see this as a live action sci-fi tv series.I think Batman Beyond would work on the big screen if it is made as a trilogy.

Anything could work if it's done the right way.

*chuckles* I'd love to see someone take my 'story' from the pages of Dungeon and make THAT work.

If they can do that, then I'll be ready to accept a Batman Beyond movie.

This was in development hell at one time. Paul Dini and Alan Burnett even wrote a script for it, and Boaz Yakin (director of Remember The Titans) was attached to direct at one time. WB was considering this and a Year One movie, before eventually hiring Chris Nolan.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

I remember when it was announced as the fifth Batman film, I was extremely excited. I hope we get to read Dini's script someday.

I beg to differ. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=190853) (-:

Clint Eastwood as Bruce Wayne. That's all I REALLY want from a Batman Beyond movie. Give him a cane and a dog, get him good and grumpy...there's your Bruce Wayne.

Malcolm McDowell would knock a Blight performance out of the park.

And I won't even recommend anyone to play Terry, as WB would throw whatever hot, up-and-coming upstart they've got sitting in there barrel of pretty people.
