I recently have been paying more and more attention to the color scheme in Smallville and how in almost every single shot they find a way to incorporate the colors blue, red, and yellow in some way. And green shows up several times.

There are the clothes that often have those colors in them, the school's colors, there are shops across the street from the cafe that have those colors on their signs, furniture, some sky shots, and so much more. There is the painting of the flowers in the cafe that have the blue, red, and yellow colors, and I noticed a blanket or a throw towel of some sort in the background that had blue, red, yellow and green in it. And there was a shot of Lana talking in the cafe while sitting at some table and I noticed lights behind her that were out of focus and sure enough they were blue, red, and yellow. Somebody went to alot of hard work to make sure there was a subtle and sometimes not so subtle color scheme running thru this series. I am sure there have been other shows that have relied on color schemes, but this is the first time I ever really noticed it.

Interesting considering that Superman's costume has blue, red, and yellow as it's colors.

This is way off topic but where does Clark go to college?

I figured that's why they focus so much on those colors, and the green for kryptonite.

He's just going to Smallville High School in the series, not college.

Especially the school colors, they may not have blue, but they certainly have a lot of red and yellow. I have noticed that Clark where's a red jacket a lot more in the show, and iin this last ep I suddenly thought that it reminded me of his cape and such. it's always fun to find these little hidden things in the series.

I don't watch Smallville, but I read an artical before the show premered stating specificly that the school colors were, intentionally, going to be those of Superman's uniform, and that the school's sports teams' uniforms would bare the familiar "S" logo.

There are a lot of references to Clark's furutre garb: The school mascot is the Crow, and he wears a big red S on his chest. Also, there was recent episode that featured a suit of armor worn by Alexander the Great that looked very familiar. But I always liked the explanation that Superman's 'S' was his family's Kryptonian symbol, and it just happened to resemble an 'S'. In the pilot episode, Clark's dad showed him some sort of device that was in his spaceship, but they haven't mentioned it since. I would think that Clark would be curious about it.

Not to mention from time to time you will see red blankets that resemble capes.

And the school colors are yellow and red, but they do put quite a bit of blue into the school scenes. I particuarly took notice of the blue benches on the football field because they stood out so much.

I'm going to have to go back and watch all the eps I have on tape, and see if I can catch all this stuff....
