I recently have been paying more and more attention to the color scheme in Smallville and how in almost every single shot they find a way to incorporate the colors blue, red, and yellow in some way. And green shows up several times.
There are the clothes that often have those colors in them, the school's colors, there are shops across the street from the cafe that have those colors on their signs, furniture, some sky shots, and so much more. There is the painting of the flowers in the cafe that have the blue, red, and yellow colors, and I noticed a blanket or a throw towel of some sort in the background that had blue, red, yellow and green in it. And there was a shot of Lana talking in the cafe while sitting at some table and I noticed lights behind her that were out of focus and sure enough they were blue, red, and yellow. Somebody went to alot of hard work to make sure there was a subtle and sometimes not so subtle color scheme running thru this series. I am sure there have been other shows that have relied on color schemes, but this is the first time I ever really noticed it.
