The mysterious rock had been used in previous superman series, so why not Justice League?

The rock's effects on Superman vary at times. Ex: It could affect his age, attitude or control of his powers.

I wanted to open this discussion since a member of this Forum open a thread about Superman turning rogue. Superman going from idealistic hero to selfish brute makes an interesting episode.
Supes definately needs to recover his status to fans and this is one way to start. I remmember the S:TAS episode "Legacy" and how great it was.

I really don't think it would help him "recover his status" if he were to go rogue yet again . He went nuts in "Legacy", then again in "The Call"...it's the oldest plot twist in the book. I'd much prefer to see him do something more "leadershipy" in JL than turn into a WWF fighter because someone else found a way to control his strength... Then again, I'd much pefer to get to see JL at all!

You made a very good observation. Showing his leadership skills will be a more effective and original idea than going rogue. :)

I don't really like that old Red K. though. It made some interesting stories that were kind of amusing but in a corny way. If you wanted to do some weird stuff to Supes like make him old or whatever it could probably be done better through the use of magic. Maybe Mr. Mxyzptlk could be involved in something like that?

Heh, I would kinda like to see Mxyzptlk take on the League, but it's probably not really the kind of feel Timm's going for with that series. :)

Well, there are two forms of red kryptonite: the pre-Crisis version and the altered piece of green kryptonite that Batman tinkered with in Tower of Babel. I could stand to see the latter.

Actually, there was another version of Red Kryptonite, besides Batman's and the pre-Crisis.

I believe it was Mxyzptlk who brought it to our dimension fairly early in the post-Crisis run of the Superman books. "The Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite" is where you can read all about it and get the facts that I may have gotten wrong or the facts I've overlooked.

As far as I know, the Red K from Mxyzptlk completely robbed Superman of his powers, but did not bring him to the ground in pain such as we often see with Green K.
