More "Roughneck" DVDs On The Way

Sony will be releasing another ROUGHECKS: Starship Troopers DVD in the first quarter, presumably, collecting the next 5 episode arc. The next DVD will likely cover the Hydora Campaign arc, involving a water based planet. Sony plans to release all forty episodes of the popular series, which retains a cult following. It is unknown whether or not Sony wil collect the three 'clip show' episodes.

The first current DVD remains on Amazon's top 100 DVDs to this date.

Episode #41 - Pluto & Beyond:
The first "clip show". Trying to explain the continuity errors and tie togethor the loose ends created by airing the show out of sequence, during it's slow time of production.

Episode #42 - Porpaganda Machine
The second "clip show". This was to buy time since they only had two new episode sin January. I think this is an episode disguised as a commercial for being a Roughneck & fighting in the army.

Episode #43 - Marooned
The third "clip show". This episode is not like the previous twp. This is a complete self contained side-story with Johnny. During a drop, Johnny's pod suffers a malfunction, leaving him floating in space.

So the clip shows are kind of "best of" clips from past episodes? I truly despise those beyond words, no matter how they try to put twists on them or to make them entertaining. I hope they never show up on DVD. Maybe as an easter egg or a bonus feature for die hard fans, but I just am not interested in them.

The next Roughneck DVDs, will be released on September 18th. Expect it to resemble the first, ie: bare bones.

There's mor eon the way. I've been trying to get a Sony rep to clarify, but I here all 8 "campaigns" are coming to DVD. 5 episodes each, 1 campaign per DVD. Also, those 3 clip episodes would make really good extras. The clip shows give information on all the bug speciies, troopers, etc...

Well, that wasn't exactly clear...so I checked....ONE DVD will be released in September, and it will be called, Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles - The Tesca Campaign. Cool enough!

It was kinda confusing with the plural there in the original post. Of course, I would be delighted if they decided to release more than one Roughnecks DVD at once! I would buy them all!
