Once I saw that this universe has Ben Reilly AKA Scarlet Spider walking around in it [search the splash page inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier for that], this book couldn't go wrong in my eyes ;)

I really thought this was a fun book, giving a lot of insight to things which happened in the original Marvel Zombies mini-series, showing many scenes which were only mentioned in those issues. There's less [dark] comedy in this book than in the other two MZ titles, which isn't necessarily bad, as it was still enjoyable; in fact, I rate it higher than the Marvel Zombies VS Army of Darkness mini-series which is halfway through at the moment!

As for Reed Richards' acts in this story... wow, talk about sick, demented betrayal

There's less [dark] comedy in this book than in the other two MZ titlesThere's really not much to speak of all; much closer to the darker tone of the Ultimate Fantastic Four arcs that started the whole thing. I enjoyed it too, although prequel or not, I think it's such a perfect way to cap off the whole Marvel Zombies thing that it's a shame it's going to continue to be milked for all it's worth.

Okay, wait, what's the difference between this mini-series and the "Army of Darkness/Marvel Zombies" miniseries? Are they both prequels?!? (I'm not collecting these, but I am curious)...

Are they both prequels?!?Yes. You don't have to read one to follow the other, although there is some overlap.

Spider-Man gets bitten in ...vs..., and you see the aftermath in Dead Days, f'r instance. Dr. Doom spurns the other survivors in Dead Days, and a follow-up in Latveria takes place in vs.

The tone is drastically different -- Dead Days is more grim and serious, while vs. is flippant and darkly comedic -- but it gels together pretty well.

I thought I was the only one who would enjoy that. Can he be zombified, though, or will be crumble to dust like when he died in the regular Marvel Universe?:D As for milking the zombies idea: look at all the zombie films there are in existence. People continue to see them. The Walking Dead has been running for thirty-seven issues and doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. I think we are living in a golden age for zombies.:D Seriously, though, all of the Marvel Zombies material has been great so far. We have yet to see how Hudlin will handle them in Black Panther, but I guess I can give him the benefit of the doubt. If he screws it up, though...:D The Ultimate Fantastic Four issues and the original miniseries just started an interesting trend for Marvel. Let them have some fun with it. When they get bored, they'll release Marvel Apes. As long as the zombie series continue to be both well-written and entertaining, I will continue to purchase them.. The covers alone are worth the money in my humble opinion.

As for milking the zombies idea: look at all the zombie films there are in existence. People continue to see them.I know. I'm one of them: the number of DVDs I own with "dead" or "zombie" in the title is larger than some of my friends' entire collections. :D

It's just that in less than two years, we're into two Ultimate Fantastic Four arcs, two miniseries (one of which is a crossover with another publisher), a one-shot, an extended Black Panther arc, Zombie Wolverine guest spots, statuettes, and those little Heroclix thingies, with at least one more miniseries rumored, if that's still on the table... It's a lot. I've been enjoying the heck out of it, so I don't mind, but it just seems to me like we're at a great stopping place. Besides, after this, we'll have already had the entirety of the plague on Earth covered, and seeing familiar faces in familiar costumes munching on people is a big part of the appeal anyway. The 'cosmic' zombies...? Bleh. I'll follow just because I've enjoyed everything else, but where are they going to go from here aside from another zombie planet? Untold Tales of Marvel Zombies, checking up on what the characters we didn't see were up to?

Come on. You can't tell me a zombified version of Annihilation wouldn't be cool?:D Seriously, though, I can see your point. As long as they don't over milk it so that the quality drops, I'm all for more. I do believe that a break is needed once in a while, though. We don't need a bunch of ongoing series.

As for the Exiles tie-in, do we really know that it was the real zombie Wolverine? He lost his body and was not in his Galactus form. If this was the same zombie Wolverine, continuity would have been ruined for the miniseries since it was established that his healing factor is no longer active.

Remember when Quesada said that the Ultimate and regular Marvel universes would never interact? While it won't be directly, both universes have interacted with the zombie universe and are therefore now connected through that universe. I really hope that they stay separated from each other, though. The Supremeverse and Ultimate universes interacting is more than enough.

About the Dead Days one-shot: I loved it, especially the Scarlet Spider cameo, as I mentioned before. There are some possible continuity errors between this and the Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness miniseries, but they're not very noticeable.:D

Robert Kirkman said AoD takes place in an alternate MZ-verse. I'll try to find it was said later today...

“I'm on hand to ensure that this story weaves in seamlessly with the Marvel Zombie's prequel one-shot I've written [May's 48-page Marvel Zombies: Dead Days, penciled by Sean Phillips, covers by Suydam], ensuring that this will be a cool read alongside that. I've advised John on what characters he could use, ones he couldn't, and where everyone is at this point in the time line. John has taken that ball and run with it …I expect it to be a slam-dunk.”

There's a few... Spidey's holding a different shoulder than the one Col. America bit him on, and some heroes seem to have been infected earlier than DD suggested. I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just commenting there are discrepencies.

Regardless, I am enjoying both a lot. What with the best Spider-Man line ever ("SHUT UP AND DIE!!").
