Am I the only one getting really tired of seeing "We really get into character" several times on every commercial break?

I love those commercials! What's wrong with them? Are you saying they're worst than the ACotW slogan?

Ugh...the whole network's going down the drain. All the filler "commercials" are being used constantly. It's not that they're not funny, but they're aired so often...and there's never anything new...even that 3 Headed Monster commercial is from 2005 (the date is even stamped in the corner). The programming is seeing less and less variety too. I think it's time for some radical changes.

The funny thing is, as I understand it, those aren't really Nick employees.

Oh I think that should be obvious to anyone. Every employee in those spots are young and attractive. I'm so sure.

What in the world is ACotW? I've done a search on that acronym and came up with:

Australian Collaboration of the Week

Assassin Cameo of the Week

AirCraft of the World

And then I found a bunch of pages in different languages.

I really have no idea what you're talking about.

The problem I have with "We really get into character" is HOW MUCH they play it. It is played at least twice on EVERY commercial break. Often times it's three of them in a row.

ANYTHING can get old if it is seen THAT much.

It pretty much amounts to seeing it 7-10 times per half-hour. That is excessive.

Ah, then yes, I think "We Really Get Into Character" is worse than ACOTW, but only because they show them so much. If I saw clips of my very favorite movie or song 10 times every half hour, it would no longer be my favorite.

Sweet Jesus, people. Does 'mild indifference' even have a place in your emotional spectrums? Who cares? The gaps between shows in kid's programming are always filled with fluff that annoys everyone above the age of 9, according to iron laws that must remain in place for all eternity. Why don't you just get up off the sofa when the commercials pop up and stick the kettle on while you wait? You know...like normal people.

Tea may be very commonplace where you live, but it isn't here, and putting on a kettle for no reason other than just to waste electricity doesn't seem very normal to me, no offense.

Most of the time here, people end up sitting (or occassionally using the lavatory) during commercial breaks, and if someone else is around, people talk through the commercials, occasionally about how awful or great some of the commercials are.

When a channel becomes a continued discussion of how awful a series of commercials are, every time that channel is watched, it starts to disrupt the actual programming on that channel. That is what has happened with NickToons.

When it comes to media, the things that make people remember a time period the most is commercials. If the same person was to see

A Wendy's "Where's the Beef" commercial and a transformers toy commercial

OR

A clip of the movie "Rhinestone" with Dolly Parton and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", which do you think will trigger more memories of 1984?

In the future, if I am shown a commercial from the past, I would rather be able to think about more than the fact that I hated that commercial. This is why I am discussing it on a message board. At least I'll be able to think about the time when I found a cool message board and talked about "We really get into character".

If I didn't like much of the programming on NickToons, it wouldn't matter very much to me. I could just watch something else. But I very much like some of the programming.

...the latter, actually. I don't remember any commercials from 1984, but I sure as heck remember Indiana Jones, the movie 'Nineteen Eighty Four', Nausicaa, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Star Trek III, Dangermouse, the Welsh Miner's Strike, being the year I was born, Ronald Reagan being Ronald Reagan and a whole bunch of other cultural influences that have nothing to do with the gaps between TV programming. I mean, you don't even need to get off the sofa and make a cuppa to skip over them (and I fail to see what's abnormal about that...'wasting electricity' indeed...philistine). You do have a remote in your hand, right? When the commercials come on...channel surf! Flick over to some other program that takes your fancy and switch back over when the advertisments end. That's what I do.

I mean, do commercials really need to be an integral part of your televisual viewing experience? I've never seen 'em as anything except a waste of broadcasting bandwidth...award-winning car adverts or otherwise. They're only up there to pay for the channel...it's not like you're obliged to indulge them. Quite frankly sitting there enraptured by corporate fluff sounds weirder to me than heading off to have a cup of tea.

If you're sick of network bumpers, just mute the audio when the show goes to commercial. That's what I do sometimes.

Though yeah, it would be nice if they made some new bumpers/slogans. I used to like the ones they played, but they've definitely been overplayed in the last couple of years.

That and..."Yeah...he's one of ours"

For those it would of been funnier if the cardboard cutouts had different expressions for each thing like with Zim or Spongebob. It would of made it just tolerable.

None of their ads are funny, lol.

What they SHOULD do is make 30+ ads advertzing EVERY show they air and what time it airs...it works to avoid ad repeat-ness on Disney Channel, it should work on NN. Create more ID's for the network. AND, since this IS an "exclusive" network, have ads that have the shows creaters interviewed about the show they created....inside notes, etc. I think they did it before, but I'm not sure. They are honestly just lazy when it comes to advertizement.

When I'm alone, I go on the web when there are commercials. I don't like turning down the sound because the time periods for the commercials are often inconsistant: they sometimes like to surprise you with a really short break here and a really long one over -here-.

When I'm watching TV with someone else and a commercial comes on, we usually keep the same station on, we don't mute it (because of the reasons in the above paragraph), we usually just talk about whatever we feel like talking about. Often times it's the show that we were watching, or something that the show reminded us of, or whatever. On occasion we'll go to the other room and look up a piece of info on the net about the subject we're talking about and then come back to the TV room. Then there's the times when a commercial is really over-the-top in trying to get your attention (the amount of money that goes into commercials for products and/or services is insanely amazing) and we'll talk about that. But then there's NickToons.

Okay, that's cool, I can get that. When I'm around family and watching something, when the adverts come on we just tend to zone out and talk about something completely different, like the family business, some funny pub story or what I'm going to do with my life.
