i have a suggestion for the hard working staff at toonzone. i have been in contact with 4 people who are currently banned from your forums. their names are:
* Bloodlust
* Reekfish
* Lord Dolmus
* SpiderBraids
they each have joined my website and have spoken of their experiences here at toonzone. i checked their IP address' and all of them are different so i assume they are not the same person. i spoke with each of them and they assured me that if they had another chance they would behave better and i believe them. i promised them that i would speak with someone here and plead with them and that is what i am doing. my suggestion is to give them each a trial run and see if their behaviors improve and if they misbehave again you can erase them from your minds. there you go, i have done what i promised to do, i delivered the message and that is all. please forgive me for joining for the wrong reasons.

well he goes by SpiderBraids on my site and he's been there for quite some time and has not given me or my moderators any problems.

Then you should be wary about people giving you one side of a story. All issues between a member and Toon Zone are kept private. We don't disclose, gossip or make public opinion on such issues. The agreement between a member and forum is a private one and Toon Zone keeps that end of the bargain, so we can't go into details, which unfortunately, means you only get one side of any issue.
I'm not saying any ex-member is lying about circumstances, but I've seen many occasions where emotions are so high, the objectivity is lost.
We have no interest in banning members for the sake of it. We have better things to do and the paperwork is a nightmare. We keep all staff actions open to scruitiny - all actions are documented with evidence and available to few by forum leaders, administrators and of course, the owners. There is an appeal system documented on the website if there are any issues, to which the appropriate staff member will look into the concern.
Bottomline is this is a private forum. If the staff - and ultimately, the guys spending the bucks to keep this place alive - feel that members are abusing the agreement to which they signed, they can have their membership revoked. They don't have to publicly justify it, nor will they look at how ex-members interact at other forums. Your forums may have different rules, it may be more lenient, or maybe the said members were less antagonistic at your forum.
But in the end, you have to accept that by Toon Zone's standards, the members didn't fit into the community by failing to keep to the code of conduct on several occasions which resulted in the staff having to act.
As I said, all staff actions are open to scrutiny with the rest of the relevant staff members. It means all actions are fair and documented. Unless you accuse the whole site in being corrupt, you might have to accept the information you've been offered might not be the whole truth or in context to the rules we have here.
Either way, it's good to hear said ex-members have found a place where they do fit in, because in the end that's what it's all about: people finding communities that fit their ideology and behaviour.

For the record, Dolmus was banned about five to seven times on multiple accounts.

Dolmus DID accuse the whole site of being corrupt... particularly in his "anti-TZ vandal days" on wikipedia...

As well as on the Myspace page of a certain member.

I guess you can give these people another chance but it's really based on their original offence and their track record of offences, if made more than once.

To be fair to any ex-members, it's probably best we don't chat about the issues they had here publicly.
They may have been removed from the community, but Toon Zone takes no pleasure in having to take such actions, and as such, I think its best that the forum - as a community of members and staff - refrains from discussing their conduct, or speculate on the issues involved in their removal on this board.
The staff are aware of the issues that have been mentioned here, but again the bottomline is if they are happy at Naruto's board, and abiding by Naruto's rules, that's great, they just didn't fit in as well here, and regardless of whether you think we're too harsh/too lax/too Nazi/too commie whatever, we do try to be consistent as possible. They were warned of the repercussions of breaking our rules of conduct, and they were removed because they contunually failed to do so. It would be unfair for us to give second chances to some, based on request, but not to all ex-members.
Naruto, I hope you can appreciate that train of reasoning, though I personally think it's awfully nice of you to come and speak on their behalf.
Any other queries Naruto, best PM relevant staff on this issue than place it here. I don't think anyone wants this thread to become a debate/speculation/conversation over people who are not present, particularly when the staff are professionally bound not to publicly discuss issues with individual members.

The guide by which the moderators conduct themselves is 16 pages printed. There are three tiers of crew above them that review bannings. When the moderators say that it's a pain in the ass to ban people, it's because it is. It is difficult to ban with personal malice involved and there are repercussions for doing so.
There's not really anything to discuss here. They can contact the moderators that banned them privately and try to work it out through proper channels.
