I've got fond memories of having cramped knees after playing the Neo-Geo mini cabs for hours on end. I also remember being stunned when I read a review of 3 Count Bout that made it seem like an awesome game... and then listed the game's price as $250. That killed my excitement instantly.

Ah yes. I remember the days where you couldn't step into an arcade (or Asian take-out restaurant, for that matter) without comming across a Neo Geo arcade cabinet. I don't remember the actual console ever catching on (good ads though). Might check out some of the VC-bound titles.

Speak of the devil, there is a Cici pizza about 20 min from my house that has a Neo Geo cabinet with KOF 95, some bubble game and Samurai Showdown...

This is one of the few systems I've been unable to collect for. It's just too expensive.
I remember reading reviews of Magician Lord and other games when they first came out and thinking they would be awesome to play, but not several hundred dollars awesome. So I did my Neo gaming on the arcade cabinets, one of the great staples of arcades, bowling alleys, anywhere there are games, really, and I played the inferior ports to different systems like the SNES.
My favorites are King of Fighters, Metal Slug, Aero Fighters and, discovered through emulation, the bizzarro fighter Waku Waku 7.
I own Samurai Shodown, Fatal fury , Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, Aero Fighters, Magician Lord, Super Baseball 2020 Aero Fighters 2, and so forth.
