Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) has been secretly trying to turn Wes Keenan (guest star Tahmoh Penikett), a military man who supposedly died fighting in Afghanistan, into a "super soldier" by injecting him with DNA pulled from the various meteor freaks he has captured.

After a crooked senator (guest star Alan C. Peterson) threatens to expose his secret labs, Lex dispatches Wes to kill the senator, but Lois (Erica Durance) witnesses the attack and inadvertently becomes the super soldier's next target. Meanwhile, Clark (Tom Welling) tries to convince Lana (Kristin Kreuk) to leave Lex.

Allison Mack and Annette O'Toole also star. Steven S. DeKnight wrote the episode directed by Mat Beck.

Next week is the Season finale, which is why I was disappointed with this episode. The death was cliche and the episode wasn't as violent as i'd expected. TV-PG V? Give me a break!

OK, the Martha goes to Washington part was good.

Here's what excites me and angers me:

Lionel and Kryptonian symbols.

It's exciting to know that while Lionel may be back to his evil self, he might actually have a greater ulterior motive. He claimed at the start of the season that Jor-El had left him...yet we saw him righting down Kryptonian symbols prior to Ollie's arrival. Now SEVERAL episodes have gone by without revisiting this issue and it comes back up last night.

What is going on????? Just tell me something.

By the way...with invisibility, how does that work exactly? I mean, is it used like a cloak, thereby Clark should have seen the prototype's skeleton (had Clark used X-Ray vision) or is this a demolecularization type of invisibility? Sorry if that question seems muddled; if you can decipher what I'm trying to ask, bonus points for you!

Clark/Lana- It bothers me and yet makes me sorta happy. I know in my heart of hearts that they DON'T need to be together. We've been down this road too much. However, now that Lana finally knows something about Clark... I'd give them their 15 minutes of happiness.

Lois' tift with Lex- I hope she approaches this in an intelligent way. One thing I cannot stand is a hotheaded character that doesn't think things through. Once upon a time, that was Clark, ALWAYS barging in Lex's mansion. With her new zest for going after Lex and earlier the senator's comments about her Inquisitor role, I hope we're going to see Lois added to the Daily Planet payroll soon.

The episode was not as super impressive as I would have hoped...then that just means the finale SHOULD be jammed full of goodness.
