iMPACT! is on now. Hope you are enjoying, I had to tape to watch later. And I can't get at the TNA preview anymore so I guess this thread doesn't have one.

This was a decent show that still didn't come close to hitting half of TNA's potential. The garbage with the women is useless. There's always a commercial during the main. They could have just given the main event match more time and scrapped the whole mess with the women. That match probably went that long in real life anyway and it actually appeared to be a pretty good one.
Jim Cornette is still the man. I love that fat, raspy mountain lion.
The tag title match was fun. I dug the Joe/BBRay bit of wrestling. BBD has the skills of a real heavyweight wrestler that have been overshadowed by, ya know, being a Dudley.
I say make Sting/Angle a total blood feud. Just turn them loose. They'd show the boys how to have a real match with all the big moments AND the selling plus the build that make those moments contribute to better matches. Nothing makes me mark out as a 25 year old smark than old dudes just letting it all fly. Angle's going to kill himself regardless and Sting (shockingly, I'll admit) has proved that he'll put his body on the line in TNA. Have Sting win the feud and lose to Daniels on his way out (assuming he leaves when his deal is up). Angle would stick around so the loss wouldn't hurt him.

There are few things I hate more than seeing somebody (in this case, Daniels) just randomly break up a match for no particular reason. At least this time the offending party paid for it. Methinks the Fallen Angel is not likely to come between those four monsters anytime soon. :D
Christian Cage is gold on the mic, pure gold I tell you. Keep the belt on him as long as necessary.
Hopefully, when Abyss returns, he will be back to his old self and all the recent storylines with him will be ignored.
TNA continues to right itself and head back up.

I feel compelled to say that Bubba Ray, or Brother Ray, is awful in the ring. I don't watch a huge amount of wrestling anymore but he has got to be the worst wrestler in a big spot right now. I mean Great Khali bad. There is no excuse for not selling for any of Joe's moves, not when Joe has been built up like he has. The Dudley's need to lose the tag straps soon. Everything that Konan said about them was right, they are fat and belong in the past.
That is TNA's problem. They push old stars, like Sting and the Dudleys, and not the wrestlers that could make them stand out like Styles, Daniels and Joe.
Sting should give the rub to young guys like Chris Sabin, Joe and Daniels should be main eventers and the Dudleys should basically be jobbers.

I thought BBRay was swank in the ring last night. Don't bash him for not selling only to wish that every other young wrestler got more of a push. Maybe if those guys learned how to sell and build matches they'd be doing a little better.

Joe did sell for him.
And I think Bubba is known for only doing his tired old spots in a match and not worried about getting anyone else over. That is why the WWE locker room hated him.

Alright, let's study this match for Joe-sells:
Bubba hits a belly-to-back. Joe give the 'adrenaline rush' roar, and immediately charges Bubba.
No sell? Let's continue...
Joe cradle-suplexes Bubba, WHO ALSO YELLS AND NO-SELLS. Sounds like give-and-take booking to me. But wait! The two fight two a stalemate, they stare each other down, and JOE GRABS THE BACK OF HIS HEAD! TWICE! So the match slows down, the adrenaline wears off, and now he feels the pain. Delayed sell with a touch of in-ring psychology.
Bubba pushes Joe into the corner, where he gets stunned on the top rope by Devon, and immediately receives another belly-to-back from Bubba. Joe is now clutching the back of his head with both hands as Bubba pins him, gets saved by Rhino.
Chaos ensues, Joe receives a book-end from Bubba, rolls out of the ring for the rest of the match.
So there you have it, three offensive moves from Bubba, all three sold.

Exactly. This is because Joe can actually work.
I'm sorry but nothing in wrestling makes me more upset than when older, "established" guys refuse to put over young guys. I guess I can understand it if they're Hulk Hogan or Shawn Michaels, but Bubba is hardly in those guys league.
Wow, I forgot how fun it it to talk about wrestling.

The Dudleys aren't in Sting's league, either. My jaw would've dropped when I read that sentence, but I think I clenched it.
Pushing established guys isn't necessarily a problem. Anyone remember what happened to WCW when they put all the big names on the backburner and gave the major airtime to up-and-comers? Anyone? Anyone remember WCW?
Not to say that Styles, Joe, etc., should be ignored. I think it's safe to say that most people just want a good mix.
Anyway, I missed last night. Anything cool actually happen?

Whoa whoa whoa you're mentioning that way out of context. You could write a novel on that one. They dedinitely don't need to forget about the established guys though. TNA has something that no promoter has ever had in a promotion - TNA has about 5 established guys (counting the Dudley's, who have contributed, regardless of last nights harmless no sell) who are willing to work with, can hang for the most part in the ring with, and give accordingly to younger talent so that they can be superstars one day. That's not counting Jim Cornette, who could and should be used better than just as the guy who replaced Larry Z (is he still with TNA?).
Sting - Everybody thought he'd just come in and coast for as long as rep would let him. He's busted his tail out there and at times sacraficed his body in efforts to contribute.
Kurt Angle - He's there for the $$$ that he needs but he won't pull a Hogan or anything in the meantime. I could see him laying down for the boys and continuing to work hard.
Scott Steiner - This is really no surprise. He's nothing but a gimmick. He's just so good at it that people think he's a legit psycho. How do I know? He does nothing but lose in TNA, just like he did in WCW after turning heel. It's to bad all his losses have been booked to be kinda meaningless.
The Dudleys - These guys annoy me for a few reasons but they will do the job. Keep them around and let them lose to some worthy young opponents.

....So how did I take that out of context? Most of what you said just made my point, unless you took what I said out of context.

Well, all I can say is one big reason that I became a major LAX fan was because it was The Dudleys that were putting them over. My inner mark said "If these guys can beat The Dudleys, they must be good." :D
Yes, I'm a complete smark for the ECW alumni. :anime:

WCW needed to do that, just not after all the good young talent up and left. They ended up pushing Jindrak and Ohaire, Hugh Morrus, AJ Styles and all those guys. They should have done that with that other batch of guys in 1998, those guys named Edde something and Chris something..........
