Post the network you want it to be on.

Local Fox networks. Just like it always has.

Edit: WTF, why was my vote in the poll deleted?

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind seeing it on AS. It would definitely be a replacement for Futurama. CN wouldn't be bad either. Spike TV is a wild card as well.

Yeah, but I just don't see it working during AS. The episodes aren't adult enough to be airing that late.

If Turner did get it, then I could see it working as a nice prime-time CN slot, which would probably help them a LOT in the kids ratings.

Well, Pee-Wee's Playhouse wasn't exactly adult either.

Also, veemonjosh, try voting again, It should appear.

.

I beg to differ. There was enough innuendo on that show that as a child, you'll definately miss, but as an adult you'll catch it all, especially Miss Yvonne being 'friendly' with any and all guys who visit the playhouse.

I perfer it on local Fox stations. But I'm mad at Groening right now, so I don't care.

"You have already voted on this poll"

But my vote didn't show up.

Edit: er, never mind. It somehow just showed up after I posted this.

And the season 1 King of Cartoons stumbling drunk every episode. :p

See my response in the other thread about this.

I think the best spot for it would be TBS/Adult Swim. I think it would fit best on TBS, since they will be able to give it the airing time it deserves(an hour at 8PM every day and more spots) while AS cannot really spare a lot of airtime for it..

Local TV stations via syndication like it has been for years. No need to deprive those without cable of seeing "The Simpsons", or of local TV stations of the ad revenue the show must bring in; the local station here that airs the show is showing an extra episode each night until the movie debuts. Besides, beats more infomercials/another talk show or judge show/etc.

Turner owns The Simpsons in the Phillipines.

I put TBS/Adult Swim, even though some episodes are mild enough to play on CN during prime time

i have no opinion these days because i own all the dvd releases that are current however for those who have no intention of dvd ownership i'd select any station that would air the series in order, something the fox affiliates are lax to do.

i'd propose that different networks have access to different Simpsons eras

TBS would likely want the current material (2000-current) because it would compliment Family Guy's wackiness.

[as] could be home to the earlier seasons, S1-5

FX could air the middle years (S6-S10). If they can loop That 70s Show for 6 hrs they can find time for The Simpsons. this by no means equate to a burn on that 70s show: the formans rock

I'm fine with it airing on Fox affiliates, but if it did come to cable,I wouldn't mind it being on Cartoon Network (maybe as a lead-in for Adult Swim)...
If it did somehow end up on cable,I hope they'd air the episodes in order(my local affiliates only seem to play episodes from the last two or three seasons)...

Local Channels and Comedy Central when Futurama moves to Comedy Central when new eps start. They could have an hour block of the simpsons followed by an hour of futurama or the other way would be fine to.

I went with Spike, it'd be a great combo with MXC,plus it'd cut down on all the freakin UFC reruns or original airings or whatever the hell it is they keep showing.

You know, it doesn't HAVE to be a FOX affiliate. Here in the part of Ohio i'm in, it doesn't air on the FOX affiliate, except new episodes, obviously

Hence the reason it's called "syndication"----syndication involves a TV show's owner/producer offering the show for sale to whichever TV station in a particular city wishes to carry it, regardless of their network affiliation. Example: in my city, "Ellen"'s talk show airs on my local CBS affiliate, while in Chicago, her show airs on their NBC affiliate (last I checked).

No, I don't think Fox should get its syndication in the long run....aside from them airing the show out of order, according to Matt Groening they also EDIT episodes. They need the episodes aired UNEDITED...sadly, Fox could care less with it.

Also take note, I do think the Simpsons, in the long run( syndication-wise) will pull a "Welcome Back, Kotter"- basically, the first 8 seasons or so will be a smash success on any channel that syndicates...not so for the remaining seasons after that. They'll do SO poorly, that they'll be cut from rotation.

It HAS happened- just ask Kabe Kaplan or virtually any OTHER cast member of Welcome Back, Kotter- and I've seen the proof, and understand why: the last season was PAINFULLY bad, completely insulting my intelligence. Check out jumptheshark.com for more info on that.

As for Pee Wee's Playhouse....uhhhhmmmm...how do I put this? Here we go:

#1. Paul Reubens is NOT a kid-friendly comedian; he's a REALLY dirty adult comedian. He originally had a show in the early '80s featuring all the characters that initially would be on Pee Wee's Playhouse, and the show was REALLY edgy for its time.

#2. Paul Reubens/Pee Wee Herman was a guest star on the very first episode of the very short-lived Joan Rivers Show( 1986, folks- the year Pee Wee's Playhouse began)....and he starts off talking about how he had his very first sexual encounter backstage. Again, this is JUST as the "kids show" Pee Wee's Playhouse became a huge hit among the kid audience on Saturday Mornings. You do the math.

#3. Most of the comedy of the time was sort of a "backlash" to the culture- the PSAs taught "honesty and fairness". PWP implied lying, cheating, and stealing. Most of the scenes involving Ms. Yvonne and Cowboy Curtis were sexual innuendos...as well as scenes with Ricardo. And the remaining comedy on the show was sarcasm, and Pee Wee being obnoxious...kids can enjoy it, but teens and above LOVE it.

Sorry folks- Pee Wee's Playhouse was a show MARKETED to kids, but MEANT for adults.

That's my point, but most people here were simply saying their FOX affiliate like they thought it HAD to be on fox

and it's not just Fox that edits the shows, ALL Syndicators edit them, mostly for time but occasionally for content.
