Sho Yamato and his 5th grade friends, Takumi and Makoto really enjoyed mountain biking (MTB) when they practiced at the practice field. Takumi was a skilled mechanic, while Makoto was a competitive female rider. Then one day, Sho was challenged by an MTB team named "Shark Tooth", and when the day came, black smoke appeared and they were sent to another world known as the "X-Zone". To return to their original world, they must compete in the "Idaten Battles", which involve races in numerous different settings. To win and collect 10 emblems in order to return will be tough, and will involve a long journey. Will they ever make it back?

Note: This is the final week of premieres. The finale airs on May 11, 2007.

Sho's younger bro adds a new dynamic that has made me enjoy this show more. He has that innocent quality, yet, like Bull in Battle B-Daman, if he gets on a NTB, he goes crazy. It'll be interesting to see what he does in the X-Zone.

Gabu finally gets his wish to return to the X-Zone, but I get the feeling he's going to have to team with Sho and the other Idaten Bike riders if they want to get the victory. I do wonder what is up with the brain washing as well. I'm glad I gave this show a chance and stuck with it, because it's better than I could have imagined after the first few episodes.

Y'know, I've tried to watch this since it premiered, but I've just never been able to get into it. The fact it's selling a toy has nothing to do with it, because I do like anime in a similar vein, such as Battle B-Daman and the like.

So... just what is it about Idaten Jump that appeals to people?

Today Sho and company did successfully return to the X-Zone, but once again I disliked the unrealisticness of them jumping over a Water Course. Once again Sho's bro stole the show and kept me interested, and it was good to see Sho finally found out his dad is alive.

Is it true that the English dub sometimes take two Idaten Jump episodes and merge them into one episode? I kind of wish they wouldn't do that, for I'd like to see the missing Japanese scenes I never get to see.

The Japanesse episodes were each 12 minutes long, so Hasbro combined two of them to form one whole episode. The entire series was 52 epsiodes in Japan- 52 12 minute episodes, so here in the US we get 26 25 minute episodes. I belieev the only scenes deleted may be some additional violence.

I've updated the list of episodes and added a note about friday's episode being the finale.

After that point, Idaten Jump will be reran in the same timeslot it's been scheduled in.

The last episode aired September 2006 in Japan, not that long ago. If ratings went well (in Japan) they could decide make another season.

BTW, there is a Nintendo DS Idaten Jump game in Japan, I wonder if we will ever see it here.

I'm serious....What does the word "Idaten" signify, if anything?

This episode was a bit of a disappointment for me. I enjoyed Sho's brother in his first Idaten battle, and I enjoyed the bike surfing part, but Kiyoshi is too good to be under Team X's control, and it's looking like this series will end without any real resolution as there is only one episode left, and there's not enough time in one episode to solve everything they've startted up.

Nobody answered my question.

Oh well, I tried.
