Does anyone usually watch it at 5:00 PM EST/2:00 PM PST?

Usually it doesnt show many good movies but last week it played some pretty underrated disney movies (i.e. brave little toaster, oliver & company, treasure planet).

Hopefully they can continue to impress, and stop showing sequals!!!

TD's Big Movie Show will only be impressive if they only show purely American movies. I just don't like the fact that they're airing Pokemon movies nowadays and I also think anime and other foreign programs have no place on a Disney-owned TV outlet what so ever. TD should be turned into a channel that airs a variety of American programming, like the Fox Kids shows, classic Disney shows, Jetix originals, 90s Marvel properties, DiC and BKN properties.

If they are going to air cartoon shorts with classic Disney characters (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc.) show the old school classics, not the new cartoons.

The Pokemon movies they aired were distributed by Buena Vista, therefore Disney has every right to show them if they want.

I prefer the Disney of old, when they never aired anime on any of their TV outlets what so ever.

If I were the owner of Disney, then the entire establishment is going to make a whole lot of major changes, such as not airing any foreign programming on any of the Disney-owned TV outlets anymore.

Amen;) !

But really, what's so wrong about them airing foreign programming?

They've doing it for quite a while, yet nobody's had a problem with it until now.

What gives?

Aren't some of the Jetix originals produced in Europe? Do you hate them as well?

Disney should focus more on their original works instead of acquiring more foreign stuff and if they did that, then they can easily prove that they themselves do deeply care about the entertainment industry as a whole, instead of being cheap and greedy by trying to hog all of the foreign stuff for themselves, so they can gain some quick profits in the process.

So you're lambasting Disney for airing programming they believe will be popular, i.e. the overall goal of any television outlet?

Right then. Carry on, business as usual here.

As long as they still produce their own shows, there's not really anything wrong with some anime. It's no different than other countries having our cartoons on their networks.

To be fair, Disney wasn't always about money and popularity though. Sure the company wouldn't put out shows for free, but they weren't borderline obsessed with money. After all, I don't recall reading Disney having to close down animation studios or cutting costs on their park maintenance in the 1990s.

Many infact seem to forget Walt's policy, which was letting the accountants worry about the costs and the rest of the company focuses on making a quality product. Overall they more or less maintain that thinking uptil the late 90s, but made it quite clear as of 2002.

An example of Disney during the early 90s, the reason why Darkwing Duck was changed from an action spy to superhero was that the original premise lacked heart in the opinion of the higher ups.

Don't get me wrong, I've coped with the change. Just that many people tend to put Disney in the same group as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network with the whole "It's always been about money." With Nick and CN yes, but Disney not so much until the recent millenium.

Here's what I think Toon Disney shall do

1. Give JETIX it's own channel or an weekend only time slot.
2. Show only Disney cartoons and shorts and equal airings for all shows. No show can be played for no more than twice a day.
3. Play all cartoons uncensored.
4. No live action shows.

Jetix doesn't have enough programming to warrant this.

BORING.

3. Play all cartoons uncensored.
Will never happen.

4. No live action shows.
As long as Disney owns Power Rangers, this won't happen either.

Again, Jetix is not the problem, just bad management. Here's what they could do about that:

1. 2 hour super stack gone. Gives the block room for 4 different shows.
2. Shows with just 39 episodes should be paired up. Meaning after show A has all episodes aired, then show B will air in it's entirely. After Show B finishes then it's back to show A. It would result in a good 78 episodes.*
3. If a particular program isn't going to be renewed and has only say 13/26 episodes, then it shouldn't be on weekdays. It needs to be weekends only.**

* I'm refering to in this case House Of Mouse and Tarzan. For Jetix, Shinzo and Legend Of The Dragon. That would leave the slot open for two shows.
** The weekend slots would be better overall for Oban Star Racers and Silverwing. Again, freeing two slots for a weekday friendly show.
