Homer's "D'oh!" will be included in the latest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Is this a celebratory exclamation mark at the end of your post or rather one of dismay and distress? I opt for the latter of the two reactions. Just one more sign that the English language isn't what it used to be. Do any of our foriegn posters have to cope with such indignities to their native laguages?

Actually I think it's pretty cool. As another web-site carrying the news said: "Woohoo!"

The language issue: I think it's one of the chief glories of English that it can invent, assimilate, or synthesize expressions so prolifically. "Ay caramba!"

Eh, I don't mind, actually. The English language is constantly evolving, for better or worse. I personally can't stand the word "morph," but it seems to have entered the vernacular anyway.

What DOES bug me is the fact that the Oxford English Dictionary has spelled "D'oh" wrong... they have it as "doh." Ah well...
