The rare Toby the Pup Cartoons "Down South", "Halloween" and "Toby the Milkman" are now available on GG's ftp as Real Video file (Medium). DivX files will coming soon. Unfortunaly the cartoons have german subtitles.

Also available are "Studie Nr. 6" and "Studie Nr. 7" from the german animation pioneer Oskar Fischinger als Real Video file and DivX file.

Wow! Great pictures! I have already downloaded "Down South" on my computer, but, as soon as I can I will download the other two on my computer and view them. At last, I FINALLY get to see "Toby the Milkman!" Thanks YPSmitGimmick!

Look at my signature to see how to get in the FTP. You can also try to use this link but you really should use a real FTP program instead:

ftp://goopy:geer@goopygeer.dns2go.com/

If you use that link in Internet Explorer please take the check out of the box that says "Enable folder view for FTP sites" in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.

Hey YPSmitGimmick can you please add those cartoons to the _additions.txt file please!

I just checked out some of the files, Goopy, great stuff! I love the Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck commercial, it was great to see it in better quality!

Hot DAMN, those Toby cartoons are cool!
Wonderful personality, timing and great old folk songs in the scores (I never knew "Smarty" had been used in a cartoon until I saw HALLOWEEN). Trouble is that in personality, voice, and (to a lesser degree) appearance, Toby is himself mostly a ripoff of Bimbo over at Fleischer's— right down to having a girlfriend, Tessy, with dog ears and a human nose (sound like anyone else you know?).
I guess, lacking originality in the most critical point, the Toby series just couldn't succeed. It's great, though, that upon rediscovery, they should turn out to be this good.
We need a Toby smilie, I think. I wonder if the Bosko one could be altered to create it?

I tried that link, and all I got was an Internet Explorer page reading:

ACTION CANCELLED

"Internet Explorer was unable to link the Web page you
requested. The page might be temporarily unavaliable."

I clicked "refresh" and then I got:

THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED

"The page you are looking for is currently unavaliable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust you browser settings."

What could possibly be wrong? I have downloaded TWO FTP programs (Gozilla and FTP Commander), and unchecked the box in Internet Explorer reading "Enable folder view for FTP sites", and still I get nothing! Could anyone help me out or let me know what I need do, or adjust on my computer/web browser? I really would like to see these cartoons!

It opens fine in IE for me, but if you're looking for an FTP program, WS_FTP is my program of choice. It doesn't even depend on your browser and is easy to set up.

WS_FTP costs $40 a month to use, and I don't really have money to burn right now. Does anyone know of any good free players that are relatively user-friendly and don't have problems with how your web browzer is set up?

I would appreciate any help and suggestions on this matter! :bosko:

Kent, if you get the LE version, it's free and doesn't stop working after 30 days like the Pro trial version.

http://www.ftpplanet.com/download.htm

Just check the LE version and download.

Those things take too long to download. I don't think it's really worth it once you get done.

BTW: "Halloween" and "Toby the Milkman" are now also available as DivX File (30,5 MB / 36,7 MB)
